Chapter 21

Kiba’s pov.

          Everyone in the village cheers when one of the village’s team did good. “Yuki didn’t look to happy when she was being taken back inside.” Naruto says as he shakes his head before looking over his shoulder at me. “Did you see the look on that ninja’s face when he was moving the target and Yuki hit it? He just about wet himself.” Choji says before shoving a fist full of chips into his mouth. I shake my head before smiling and looking back up to the screen. Kakashi-sensei had just finished and everyone was talking about how well our team was doing. After what felt like ever the round was over and most of the people knocked out were from the sky and star villages. “Now it’s time for the last and best round!” Fumio yells making everyone cheer louder than before. All the reaming members of the teams walk out and stand together. Akamaru barks when it shows Yuki who was dressed like normal meaning she wasn’t wearing the jacket I gave her. She looked upset or lost in thought which was how she had looked for most of this morning. “What’s wrong with Yuki?” a pale boy asks as he looks at Naruto who shakes his head. “I’m not sure Sai. Besides even if I did know I probably wouldn’t tell you.” Naruto snaps and I growl a little at him. “For our final round the reaming competitors will have to get an object that has their village symbol on it. That object can be a flag, rock, charm or pendant also they are colored to the villages so be on the lookout for that. There is only one per team so that mean after you find your object you have to find the rest of your team before making the trip back to the village. The first team here wins!” Fumio screams and the crowed in the arena goes wild.

          The competitors were split up and I was a little worried when I see Yuki and the other woman from our village team up. “This could be bad. Look they are putting that Mizu guy on the same side as Yuki.” Ino yells making me look over the other villages that were put on the same side as Yuki. “We will be transporting our competitor to the forest that is several days away. This round will take 3 days and there are cameras watching everything that goes on. Anyone who is hurt seriously by another competitor will be brought back and the person who did the hurting will be out.” Fumio says and a scroll was rolled out in front of them. The teams get on the scrolls and then they disappear. I search every screen for Yuki until I see her and her team mate talking to one of the stone village ninja. He looked about as old as Asuma-sensei. Not long after that they took off and I was a little worried when I didn’t see Yuki on any of the screens after that. “Who was that Yuki was talking to?” Shikamaru asks before he looks at me and I shrug my shoulders because I didn’t know who he was. The screen flashes to the scrolls that both teams came in but there was mist or smoke around before there was a boom that could be said was an explosion.

Yuki’s pov.

          Umeko and I were running as fast as we could but there was a boom that makes me stop moving. “Yuki what’s wrong?” Umeko asks as she stops by me and looks at where I am. “I heard a boom kind of like something being blown up and their shouldn’t be any fighting just yet.” I say before frowning a little. “Let’s keep going I’m sure that it was nothing.” Umeko says and she starts moving. I shake my head before following her starting to feel a little uncertain about this whole thing. ‘Something’s not right. Be careful from now on.’ Yuriko says and I was a little worried that she might take control which would be bad considering we are on TV and all. After an hour of running I see a flash of light blue in the trees. “Umeko.” I call as I walk over to see what it was. Umeko was by my side in an instant and we look over the small snowflake like flowers making me think of Kiba then the snow village. “Should we put up a trap?” Umeko asks and I shake my head no because there wasn’t any snow ninja that had been with us so they must be on the other side with Kakashi. “Let’s leave it alone. I’m not too worried about them finding it.” I say and she nod so we take off running again. I was starting to get annoyed that we couldn’t find the silly object in this forest and wanted nothing more than to go to Kakashi because this was getting tiresome. As we were about to jump over the river something red flashes at the bottom and I slide to a stop falling in the water.
