Jenna managed to duck out of the way and the knife flew by barely missing her. She jumped back into the car, put it into reverse and drove away as fast as she could. Once she reached home, she ran into her house.
“Mom! Dad! We need to get out of this place as fast as we can,” she screamed, “Mom! Dad!”
“Jenna! What’s the matter?” exclaimed Pat as she and Richard stepped out of the kitchen.
“We have to get out of here. Now. There’s something not right with this place. This house, this town. We have to get out. Please, I beg you.”
“Calm down and tell us what happened. Sit down. Let me get you a glass of water but honey for God sake please calm down.”
Once Jenna had drunk some water and had relaxed a bit, she explained everything that had happened over the last few days, starting from the maggots in the vegetables, to the night before she fell sick and right until what just happened. Again carefully making sure that Michelle’s name never came up.
When she finished, she looked at her parents, “So now do you believe me? We have to go. This place is haunted. Something out there is trying to get me and we need to get away from it before it does.”
“Jenna,” sighed Richard patiently, “You are stressed out honey. You need to rest. There is nothing wrong with this place. If it was haunted, why aren’t your mother and I seeing things? Your mind is over worked. You need to calm down.”
“I am not going to calm down!” yelled Jenna. “Why can’t you believe me? I am not a small child. I am not stupid. Listen to me. You’ll are making a big mistake.”
Richard looked at her with pity, “Sweetie, you need to go upstairs and sleep. We have already moved half way across the country and I do not plan on going anywhere again. This is a nice place. The people here are nice and this house is NOT haunted. Just please go and calm down. We will speak to you tomorrow. Good night.”
Defeated, Jenna headed up to her room. Pat and Richard sat on the couch and looked at each other in despair.
“Do you think she’s okay?’ asked Pat.
“Yes dear. I am sure she will be fine. She is just stressed out. She has been repressing everything inside ever since the wedding fell through. Not once has she spoken about it or faced her sorrow. She has been bottling everything inside and now it is starting to affect her mind.”
“I don’t know Richard. Jen, hasn’t been someone to make things up. Ever.”
“I never said she is making things up. I said it is her mind playing tricks on her. Come on Pat. You are a doctor too. You know very well what I am talking about.”
“Fine. Let us give her a few days and if she doesn’t improve, I suggest we take her to a counsellor.”

Jenna woke up to the ringing of her phone. Without looking at the screen, she pressed answer and held the phone to her ears.
“Hello?” she mumbled groggily.
Again there was silence. All of a sudden there was a piercing sound like a train horn and then the person on the other end hung up.
She sat up in bed wide awake now. “Well, if no one believes me, I am going to get to the bottom of this on my own and prove to them I am not mad.”
She scrolled through her phone until she found the number she was looking for and dialled it.
“Can you meet me at the park in an hour’s time?” ....... “Great! I’ll see you there then.”
She quickly went and showered and got ready. She rushed downstairs and stuffed some toast in her mouth, jumped into her car and sped off to Bedhill.
When she reached the park, she looked around and spotted the person she was searching for sitting on a bench at the far end of the park.
“Hey, thanks for coming!”
A handsome face looked up at her and smiled.
“Anytime,” replied Tyler.

The moment Tyler had received the call from Jenna, he had rushed over to meet her. In all his years of being away at college, he had had women throwing themselves at him left, right and centre. But he had never been interested in them. He knew he was good looking, he knew he was a nice persona nd he knew he could get any girl he wanted but he had never wanted any girl so long. Until now.
The first time he had seen her at the Cookie store with her impeccable dressing sense and sad eyes, he knew that he had to go talk to her. And when she brushed him off, he knew that she was something else!
The more they had spoken that evening in her backyard, the more he started liking her and when he had seen her unconscious in the clinic, he was terrified. He hadn’t wanted to leave her bedside for even one second. It was then that he realised that he was in love with Jenna Smith.
When she had called him today, he knew something was wrong. He could hear it in her voice and he knew that he would do anything to help her.

“And now my parents don’t believe me. They think I am hallucinating or something and I need you to help me found out what is going on,” Jenna concluded.
Tyler sat quietly with a thoughtful expression on his face. “From what you have told me, the one thing that is very clear is that whatever has been happening has always happened only when you were alone, right?”
Jenna nodded.
“Now you said that this morning you heard the sound of a train when you received that call. We should probably go to the Bedhill station and look around. It doesn’t work anymore. Has been closed to public for almost fifteen years now but occasionally trains pass by through it without stopping. Do you want go there?”
“Right now, anything is worth a shot!”
When they reached the station, it was empty. They jumped over a low rise fence and went inside. They began to look around. Finally under a bench on the rundown platform, they found a bag stuffed with some male clothes and a bed sheet. It all looked quite new and expensive.
They heard a scuffling sound behind them and when they turned around they saw the back of a man as he began running in the opposite direction. Tyler chased after him with Jenna not far behind.
When he was close enough, Tyler jumped and tackled him from behind. With a thud, they fell to the ground. Tyler quickly stood up and pulled the man up to his feet and spun him around.
“Paul?” exclaimed Jenna in shock.
And she turned around and ran away.
