11:00 am

Jenna sat tensely on her couch waiting for Michelle to arrive. Tyler and Francis were concealed in the two adjoining rooms. They had arrived earlier and set up little video cameras all around the house so that at all times they would know what was happening and would be able to keep a watchful eye on Jenna.

11:20 am

The doorbell rang.

She was there early. Jenna fearfully got up and went and opened the door.

“Hello Michelle,” she smiled at her. “Come on in.”

Michelle smiled back and walked in.

“This is it,” thought Jenna. “Mom, dad, this is just for you. I know you are watching down on me and I need you more than I’ve ever needed you’ll before.”

In the inside rooms, Tyler and Francis both said a small prayer.

“It’s show time!” said Francis.

10:00 am

Jenna was already inside the house and Tyler was helping Francis unload their equipment from his car.

“You have no idea how to destroy the book, do you?” Tyler asked Francis.

Francis looked up at him surprised.

“What makes you say that?”

“Come on, I know Jenna believed you and that’s a good thing but you can’t fool me.”

“I was up the entire night and I couldn’t figure it out. In all my years, I haven’t been stumped like this.”

“Then what do you propose to do? You have sent Jenna straight in there with no sort of plan?”

“Tyler, we have a plan. Come in and help me set up these cameras. And just listen to whatever I tell you.”

“Francis, if anything happens to Jenna inside there, anything, I swear to God I will not spare you.”

“Tyler, just come.” And with that Francis turned to go in.

Tyler bent down to pull out the last box when he found an envelope fallen under the seat. He picked it up and looked at it curiously. He suddenly remembered that Jenna had had this in her hand last night when he picked her up last night. She must have dropped it in the car and forgotten all about it.

He tore it open and found a piece of paper in it. The paper looked like it had been torn out of a book in a hurry. Some typing had been scratched out and under it there were some points written in what seemed to be a hurry. His blood grew cold as he read what was written.

“Francis! Come here. You got to see this.”

“What is this?” Asked Francis as he pulled the paper from Tyler’s hand.

He read the contents.

“Doesn’t work. Don’t burn.

No use.

Only solution..”

The next few words were smudged and then it continued:

“.... pour Hoy Water. Stab middle with cross in its presence.

I failed.”

“If this is what I think it is,” exclaimed Francis. “We might have just found our solution. Let’s go.”

11:30 am

“Would you like to have something? There isn’t much to offer since this place has been locked up for some time.”
