Chapter 7

Carmen's P.O.V

I finally get home and I run up to my room, when I enter I see a box. I walk up to it and see that it's rapped nicely, I think for a second and try to figure out who would give me a present. I sit down on my bed with the present on my lap, I'm about to open it but I get interrupted by someone nocking on my door. I tell them that it's open and wait for someone to com in but no one does. I walk up to the door and open it and no one was there, I thought maybe it was one of the kids playing a little prank on me. I go back to my room and back to the present. I pick it up and inspect it, after a while I slowly start to open it. When it's fully open I see that it's a beautiful doll.....It's one of Enoch's dolls. It's an amazing doll with a pretty dress. I pick up the paper the doll was rapped in and a folded paper falls out. I pick it up and unfold it ans see that it's a not

"hi darling (Carmen) 

I made you this doll because you wanted it. You see I made it pretty but I also put a little bit of my touch on it, meaning that it's also a bit creepy. I made this doll for you before you wear mad at me and you stopped talking to me. I showed Jack Victor because I wanted to scare him off. Knowing you, your asking your self why I was trying to secret him off, well that's a secret for me to know and you to find out but please forgive me Carmen. I miss having you beside me, watching my dolls fight to the death. I miss hearing you laugh and I miss hearing you clap really fast when you doll wins. Please forgive me, and also don't tell any of the other kids I did this because I don't want them you know I'm kind of.........you know soft."  

I quickly pick up the doll and put the not in my drawer. I run to Enoch's room and with out even nocking I barge in and see him working on another doll. He looks up and sees that I'm holding the doll. I slowly walk up to him and without saying anything I hug him, he hugs back amedeatly "I'm sorry Enoch, I didn't mean to get so mad" I say still hugging "no Carmen I shouldn't have broke the rules" he replies. We stay like that for a while and then we slowly pull away "thank you for the doll Enoch she's beautiful" I say holding her "she does something else watch" he says as he takes the doll, he puts her on the table and puts a heart in her. She stands up and Enoch whispers something in her ear, then the doll starts to dance like ballerina. Soon she stops and falls and turns back into a regular doll "that was amazing Enoch. Thank you" I say smiling at him. Before he can say anything back Miss. P calles us down for supper.

When we get down there everyone is already sitting at the table "oh!!! Carmen wear did you get that amazing doll" asked Clair sweetly. I look down and notice that I didn't put the doll away "oh I've had it for a long time and I just recently found it" I reply lying to her. We sit down and start eating but a couple of minutes I see Hugh snatch the doll away from me "she didn't find it, this is one of Enoch's dolls" he yells out to everyone "Carmen did you take one of Enoch's dolls" Clair asked confused "no silly Enoch mad it for her" Fiona says laughing a little. Everyone starts to ask Enoch all these questions at once like, Do you like Carmen? and Why did you make her the doll? Before Enoch can reply to any of them Miss. Peregrine gets upset "that'd enough all of you. It's not polite to yell questions at someone" she says sternly.  

After supper we are told that we have to leave because something was going to happen to our home. Enoch takes me upstairs and we all start packing. I was caught up with what's happening hollows, the things that killed Victor are coming for us and we have to go. Enoch comes into my room after he's done packing all his stuff. when he comes in he sees that I've barley started "Carmen what are you doing, you have t pack" he says as he starts putting stuff into a suitcase "Enoch.....I'm scared" I say as I sit on my bed. He sits next to me "hey look at me, I will not let anything hurt you" he says putting his hand on my shoulder "but Enoch those things, you can't stop them they're monsters"  say almost crying. I let a tear fall down my face, Enoch turns my head so I'm looking at him and he wipes the tear away "nothing's going to touch you on my watch" he says trying to calm me down. When I'm finally calm, he starts to lean in and I do the same but before our lips can touch Millard runs in "guy's stop ding what your doing and pack you stuff" he yells at us. Enoch and I pull apart quickly both of us blushing, Enoch get's up and walks to my door "see you down stairs darling" he says as he walks out of my room.

I sit there for a while thinking over what just happened. I almost kissed Enoch O'Conner.
