what walks in the shadows

Chapter 1

Author's note: hey guys! so this is my first story, i know it needs work and if you have any suggestions i would love to hear them. please enjoy!

Reyna

Reyna awoke to the smell of breakfast. It was a Saturday and she was happy for many reasons. For one she had just moved to a new house in Georgia, for another reason moving meant new friends new rules and new boys!

Reyna slipped out of bed into her cozy purple slippers. As she opened her husky, Askgus charged in. he jumped up on her bed and just lay there. She laughed and heard her mother's voice call for her.

"Reyna! Breakfast is ready, come and get it." Her mother yelled

Reyna went down the stairs wiping the sleep from her eyes. When she reached the bottom her mother's face appeared smiling. Her mother was from South America, and a little Italian. And had strait hair, she had tan skin, and startling brown eyes.

"Come. Come eat." Reyna's mother said.

Reyna smiled and went into the kitchen. She gasped her favorite breakfast food was there, Bacon and eggs. The food was just sitting there taunting her. She looker at her mother, her mother in reply nodded and smiled at Reyna.

"Hun, have a good day. I've got to go to work. I'm so excited it's my new job." Reyna's mom said as she grabbed her expensive purse.

"Okay mom, see you later. Wait! Mom can I go and look around with my bike?" Reyna asked.

"Yeah, sure, knock yourself out." Reyna's mom replied.

Reyna ran up stairs and got in to clothes or her uniform as her mom called it. Jeans, All star Sneakers, and a plain black shirt with her hair tied up in to a high pony tail.

She ran down the stairs to the garage were she fed the dog and got her back pack. As the garage door opened the dog got out and Reyna had to chase him back inside. When finally Reyna got the dog back inside she grabbed her black bike. As she mounted she got a little stuck, after what seemed like forever she finally got her bike out. She mounted her bike and peddled off she wound up in a main street with small cute olden looking shops. Then when saw one store, an old antique shop. Reyna parked her bike, and went inside. When Reyna entered the store a small little old woman greeted her.

"Hello can I help you find anything?" the old woman said

"Um, no thanks, I'm just looking." Reyna replied.

The little old woman smiled and went into the piles and stacks of stuff. Reyna went another way. She walked around tables, chairs, and tables and chair that had all kinds of small and big items on them. On one table Reyna found a very olden day, dusty looking hair brush.

She turned one of the many corners and found a boy sitting on the floor reading a comic.

He had dark hair that could sweep over his eyes, tan skin, and startling blue eyes. He looked up once she stopped walking, Reyna quickly turned around running into a table or old dusty tea cups. The boy stood up and walked over to Reyna. She put the cups she tipped right side up. The boy helped her. She couldn't help gazing at the boy's face, something inside her fluttered. The boy looked at Reyna she looked away knowing that he saw her blushing, she felt stupid for gazing at him like that. The boy slipped behind a corner. Reyna's eyes couldn't help but fallow the boy. She looked away and down to notice that she still held the antique brush. Reyna set the brush down gently and turned in to a chair of comics. Seriously! Reyna thought to herself. Then a blonde girl stooped down to help Reyna. After they had finished Reyna could feel the dust of the books on her hands. She dusted them on her pants leaving dust marks; Reyna brushed the marks all around her pants. Reyna noticed the girl looking at one of the mirrors. The girl studied it with so much intensity that Reyna thought that the girl was trying to break the mirrors with her ruthless gaze.
