chapter 16

Jack

At first jack dreamed of gummy bears dancing a throne in a heavan like place. Jack really wanted to eat them. Then sadly (in Jack's opinion) the dream changed to show a cavern with a waterfall. The waterfall's water was bright and looked like star light. The dream shifted to show Elizabeth on one of the many towers at the old school. Elizabeth jumped off the edge and right as it was a bout to show Elizabeth smashing in to the rocks below the scene changed to show Coralyn with a blonde boy who looked a lot like Jordan. They had the same color of eyes, same face structure, both were skinny and had shaggy hair. Coralyn looked and seemed older, more mature something jack wasn't ready to see. Her hair had grown some, and she seemed taller or maybe it was that she was smiling with the blonde Jordan. Jack couldn't hear what they were saying only that it was really funny, jack wanted to know what exactly they were talking about. Dream jack, walked up to them, but as he started walking they seemed to be getting further away. He stopped and noticed that Henry and Reyna had appeared, they looked different too. Reyna had a brilliant smile and her hair like Coralyn's had grown some. Henry looked weird , he had one blood red streak in his hair. They were all laughing at something and from the middle pushed Elizabeth. She had nothing wrong or different about her. All of jack's friends had an aura around them that made jack want to join them even more. He looked at his hands and saw how dark they were compared to his friends. He looked up and started running after his friends, the setting changed to a valley. Jack stopped realizing he was all alone, he turned and saw hundreds, millions of skeletons behind him. he felt powerful and in charge. They all advanced when jack gave the order.

Jack shot up from his dream. Coralyn nudged him, jack almost freaked out when he saw her face. At first jack thought that something bad happened but then realized that she was half asleep.

"Go (yawn) it's your (yawn)turn to(yawn)to keep watch. (yawn)" Coralyn whispered.

Coralyn dropped the bow and arrows in jack's lap and crawled off. Jack watched as Coralyn fell right next to Jordan and start to breath softly. Jack got up and made sure everyone was sleeping. He grabbed the bow and quiver and stepped out side. The air chilled him right away and jack returned to grab a leaf. Jack looked around for a place to sit and guard, he quickly found a large tree root that was a little above the ground. He jumped on it and sat there looking for a few moments. He reached for his pocket knife and pulled it out. He turned it in his hands and stopped it and studied the name. jack rubbed his thumb against the Swiss sign. Automatically the sword extended and the pocket knife disappeared. The two metals glowed in the dark and created a lantern kind of thing. Jack used the sword's light as a better way to see. Jack almost yelped when he saw two giant red eyes starring at him. the creature disappeared, and soon jack was alone guarding his friends. Jack calmed down and started studding the sword. He saw a sign on the handle that almost looked like the Swiss sign. Jack pressed it and the blade's light faded, the sword turned back into the pocket knife.

"peter, who is Peter? Why would he leave his knife?" jack said to himself.

Jack sat looking in to darkness for about and hour and a half until the first rays of sun touched the ground. Jack jumped off his root and walked over to the tree tent.

"Everybody up." Jack said

His reply was a groan from Coralyn. Jordan sat up with some difficulty, Elizabeth got up and helped Jordan. Jack watched and nudged Coralyn. Coralyn rolled onto her face and groaned at him to leave her alone. Jordan's wound was no longer bloody and he looked fine, other than the various cuts on his face and arms. Coralyn, and Elizabeth also had cuts, jack figured that he probably had them too. They finally got Coralyn up and out of the tent, the bright sun woke her up. Elizabeth cut down the tent and pulled out the rope that remained.
