"What do you mean you met someone?" Hailey asks the next day at lunch.
Both Cody and Lauren aren't here so I decided to tell Hailey and Leah all about Tyler.
"I mean I was at the mall on Saturday and I met someone," I tell them.
"But I thought we were dating," Leah tells me and Hailey just glares at her.
"His name is Tyler and he goes to Jefferson's," I tell them and they ooh and aah.
"So let's hear some details," Leah says.
I spend most of lunch telling them all about my Saturday morning.
"He's not a rebound is he?" Hailey asks once I'm done.
"Why would you ask that?" I want to know.
"Well because you did have that stupid crush on Jake for ages and he did kind of ask you out even if you didn't go on a date and that was like 2 weeks ago so I'm just worried that Tyler is your rebound or something."
"Do you have to act like my mother all the time?" I ask and she shrugs.
"I just don't want any more drama and heartache for anyone even if it's someone I don't know and by the sound of it this Tyler guy is really a catch and maybe you should take some time to get over the Jake thing so that you can actually have some sort of relationship with Tyler or anyone else for that matter," she tells me.
"Hailey I am not in the mood to hear one of your lectures and besides, I was the rebound," Leah says causing me to burst out laughing.
"I am pretty sure I'm over Jake and I know I didn't wait a long time before moving on but it's just because Tyler's a really great guy and I really don't care about Jake. Like at all," I tell her.
"Okay. Just be careful."
"Will do mom," I tell her.
"So where's Cody?" Leah asks.
"Probably out with Lauren somewhere," I tell them.
"Are him and Lauren like a thing now?" Hailey asks.
"Well he hasn't really said anything but I think so because they went for pizza together on Friday night and I think he invited her to pancake hut on Saturday."
"Cody Adams invited someone to pancake hut?" Hailey asks.
"Uh...yeah..."
"I can bet you a million dollars he didn't. He won't even allow Leah and I to join in on Emma/Cody bonding time so if Lauren ended up there it was because she was gate-crashing."
"Why would she do that?" Leah asks.
"Maybe she's jealous? I mean Emma and Cody are really close," Hailey says.
"I guess so and she does basically ignore you whenever she's with us," Leah adds.
"Look guys we don't even know whether they're together or not so let's just wait until Cody says something. I mean we are best friends and I don't think he's keep this from us. I mean why would he?" I ask and for once Hailey doesn't have an answer.
"You owe her though. If she didn't show up you wouldn't have met Tyler," Leah tells me and I hear Hailey mutter something under her breath.
"Tyler actually said something similar to that. What did you say Hailey?"
"Oh nothing."
"Riiiight."
"Okay...so the bell's about to ring. I'll see you guys later?" Hailey says, getting up before we have time to answer.
