"I hate Mondays," I complain during lunch.
"You're not alone there. I wish I could just go home and go back to sleep!" Cody agrees.
"That would be amazing," Leah says and Hailey just yawns.
"So Em. Have you asked Camille about tomorrow yet?" Hailey asks.
"Yeah. She said it should be fine."
"What's happening tomorrow?" Cody wants to know.
"We're going dress shopping silly and no matter how much you whine and beg you are coming with us," Leah answers and Cody grimaces.
"Why do you always make me come with?" he whines sending me a pleading look.
"Because even though you won't admit it you do have good taste. " Hailey teases.
"And no matter how many looks you send Emma you are still coming with us. We won't make you dress up this time, though blue really is your color," Leah tells him.
"I need more guy friends," he mutters.
"Aw come on Cody. You know you love us!" Leah exclaims and he just rolls his eyes.
"Emma. Hey," Jake says from behind me I spin around to look at him. "Hi."
Leah looks like she's about to start hyperventilating while Hailey looks amused. Cody on the other hand just looks bored.
"Do you wanna have lunch with me?" he asks and I hear Leah squeak.
"Sure!" I answer getting up and smiling.
Jake smiles and leads the way to an empty table before sitting down.
"I thought it could just be the 2 of us. My friends can be a bit much sometimes," he tells me.
"I know what you mean. Leah is pretty insane."
"Believe me I know. I tried talking to her once and she seemed like she was about to have a panic attack."
"She probably was going to. She's pretty insane but once you get used to her she's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She's also a very honest person."
"That's good. So I know this may seem lame but, tell me about yourself." I look at him and laugh at the suggestion and he just grins at me.
"I'm 16. I like ballet. I eat most things but I hate raw tomato."
"I would have never guessed that you like ballet. I hate tomatoes too."
"They're all slimy and disgusting and don't even taste nice! When they're raw only. But I love tomato sauce and that sauce they put on pizzas. I love pizza."
"Agreed. I love pizza. What kind?"
"Pepperoni obviously. Cody likes ham and pineapple. I really don't understand why though. Pineapple should just not be on a pizza. It's too sweet. And pepperoni just tastes a whole lot better."
"Pepperoni is the best and I hate the whole pineapple on pizza thing too."
"Finally. Another sane person. So whenever we order pizza we have to get half half."
"Do you eat pizza a lot?"
"Yeah...at least once a week. I love home cooked food too! My mom makes the most amazing pastas."
"Pastas are pretty amazing. Sadly my mom isn't too good at making them but we do go to this awesome Italian restaurant."
We spend the rest of lunch just laughing and talking about ourselves. Surprisingly we have quite a bit in common. Our taste in music is the same, we like the same movies. I actually can't think of something we don't have in common. The bell rings and I can't believe how quickly the time went.
