Chapter 4

Naomi found herself in an awkward position. She stood a few inches away from Logan as they both got on the elevator in silence. She took note of his height; he was tall and well built. It made her feel so tiny next to him; she was use to it with Nigel but never examined it before.  Even though Nigel was getting older; he still had the body of thirty year old in his prime. Unlike his father, Logan had a body built with war in mind. He had the perfect male model looks with a touch of UFC physique. He wasn’t too muscular but just right to have his body look amazing in anything he wore.

Elevator doors opened to the view of the garage and he was the first one to step out. She couldn’t help but notice the way he walked. His entire presence called for attention and it annoyed her that her eyes wouldn’t leave his body. She tore her eyes away from him and stepped out the elevator following behind him. As Naomi walked, she quickly buttoned up her coat. She had forgotten how cold it had gotten since winter had finally began to settle in. The trees were covered in snow and leaves seem to have disappeared, some staying around desperately holding onto branches.

“Were taking my car,” he stopped in front of a black Lincoln Navigator and clicked his reopen unlocking the doors. He motioned for her to get in and she opened the door.

When she sat in the car, she didn’t bother to look at him as he drove out of the garage and into the streets. He was rude, annoying, and conceited. Though, she could not help herself but admire his car. Like most rich people, he drove an expensive car. Naomi was a Subaru fan and drove her new Forrester.  She loved that car even though her mother wanted her to get a convertible since Naomi didn’t have kids yet. But, she ignored her mother and purchased her suv. Safety to her was more important than a stylish car. Carla knew that her daughter had suddenly begun to live life as “safe.” Her daughter was always afraid of taking risks. She knew this wasn’t life she wanted her daughter to live but whenever the subject was brought up, Naomi would brush it off.

Twenty minutes into the drive she stopped looking through her passenger window and stared at Logan. It was hard not to notice how handsome he was, thanks to both his beautiful parents. He was perfection at its best, excluding his attitude of course. When he turned his head to look at her, she snapped back into reality and found herself as the target of his icy glare once more.

“If you continue to stare me, I’ll have to consider that you are planning to commit under aged rape.” He turned his gaze back onto the road.

She didn’t bother to get angry by his comment and spoke back to him with no emotion behind her voice. “How can I commit that, you are only one year younger than me.”

“You like a cougar to me.”

“So being twenty-five is considered cougar?”

“Now you are getting the big picture.” He smirked. He never realized until now, how much he enjoyed seeing his secretary fighting to maintain control in every situation. To the world she was uptight, confident, and refined. In reality, she had a side to her he wanted to see for himself. It caught him off guard when she entered into his office like a defeated dog. It wasn’t his business to question her about it, so he left the subject untouched but the sight of her like that disturbed him. It was slightly becoming difficult to read her. He wasn’t use to a woman he was unable to read. Why do I care, women are just toys?

“So, I’m guessing you only find women under the age of eighteen, your type huh?” She snickered, enjoying look on his face. She caught him off guard. Gotcha bitch!

He chuckled and smirked. “No, I’m just not interested in antiques.”

“Logan, are you looking for an early retirement,” she spoke in a threatening tone.
