Mitch's POV:

The next day, I couldn't help but think about what happened last night. I knew Ashley hugging me was just a gesture to say thank you, but I couldn't help but feel it was something more than that. I sipped on my morning coffee and glanced up at the clock. 10 am. Ashley texted me last night after I left saying she would come by for her sweater at eleven before she met with some people about her apartment. Strangely, I found myself anticipating her arrival, having nothing better to do anyways. In the meantime, I decide to record some intros and prefaces for my videos. I go up to my room, sit down in my chair, put on my mic equipment, and start recording. As I do this, I hear Tyler and Adam talking. We're the only ones in the house at the moment, the rest of the Team is out doing their own thing.

When 11 o'clock finally comes around, I've finished editing all of my videos, including intros and outtros. I get up and go downstairs just as I hear a knock on the door. I practically race down to get it, but Adam's there first. He opens it, and there's Ashley, dressed in a nice skirt and top with her hair pinned up in the back. She looks a little stressed, but smiles when Adam opens the door.

"Ashley!" Adam greets her. He embraces her and I feel a strong wave of jealousy overcome me. I shake it off and lean against the stairwell as Adam let's her in. He chats with her politely and I wait until she notices me. When she does she smiles, and I smile back. Adam notices me right after she does, and lets her go to follow me up the stairs to find her jacket.

"I tried looking for it earlier." I say, and it's true, I did.

"Did you check downstairs?" she asks.

"Yeah." I reply. "No luck." We begin searching together around the room for it.

"Maybe under the couch?" I suggest. She nods.

"I'll check the cushions." she says. I see her feeling around as I stick my head under the couch. When I see there's nothing there, I get up, realizing I have my foot stuck. Unfortunately, I get up too quickly and twist my foot slightly and bump my head on the couch bottom.

"Ow!" I hear from above along with my own pain as I rub my sore head. I untangle myself and check too see what happened. When I do, I see Ashley holding her finger in one hand, and her sweatshirt is sprawled across the couch.

"What happened?" I ask, starting towards her.

"When you moved the couch, my hand was still in it and as I grabbed my sweatshirt, my finger was caught and crushed from the impact." As she talked, she held her finger and examined it carefully.

"Really? Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Ashley. I-I'm such a jag, aren't I? Stupid fricking couch was in the way!" I huff, exasperated. She laughs at my frustration.

"It's not all that bad," she assures me. "It just hurts to bend it, is all." I see right through her attempt to appear tough and take another step forward so I can take her finger in my hand and examine it for myself. Without objection, she lets me.

Ashley's POV:

I blush as Mitch takes my finger in his hand and carefully examines it. It actually hurts a lot, but I was not about to let that on.

"Yeah, it'll swell up pretty badly. I've done this to my fingers many times before, it never ends up well. Let's go get some first-aid for you." he says. I don't object, I just nod and follow him into the bathroom. He reaches up into the cabinet and rummages around for a band-aid or something. He stretches slightly to reach up and I have to avert my eyes to keep from feeling uncomfortable because I can see his abs from where I'm standing. A few seconds later he pulls away with supplies for a splint in his hand. We walk back over to the couch and he sits down next to me, knees touching mine. He carefully takes my hand and puts it on his lap, placing it carefully on the metal splint material. He then takes a piece of medical tape and wraps it around both the splint and my finger.

"Seems like you've done this before." I comment, looking up at him.

"You have no idea." he says, grinning at me. He looks back and finishes up, giving my hand a light pat as he leans back.

"Thanks, Dr. Mitch." I laugh. He laughs too, and we sit there for a moment, and I forget my current issues for a moment. When we stop, I remember them, and I feel a frown crawling back on my face. I feel Mitch looking at me with that concerned expression he sometimes wore.

"What's wrong?" he asks. I sigh.

"Nothing really, I'm just a little nervous and a little stressed about the move and stuff. You know how poorly I do with these kind of things." I look down and he's quiet for a moment before speaking up.

"I know how the stress feels, Ash. But it'll be totally worth it when you're all finished with the move, because you'll be here with us to cause you even more stress from our annoyingness!" I laugh. He always knew how to cheer me up. Just then, I checked the time and saw I had been here for a half hour. It was 11:36 and my appointment was at twelve about 20 minutes away.

"Oh god, I have to go. Thanks for the medical help, Dr. Mitch. I'll schedule my next appointment another time." I say. He smiles.

"Any time, any time my fine patient. Just call up, I may or may not be here." We both laugh again and he hands me my sweater. We walk down the stairs together and linger by the door for a moment, I didn't want to leave.

"You know, you can really just come back any time if you want to." Mitch offers, blushing a little.

"Well then maybe I wll. Y'know the next time you're doing a photo shoot or something important, I'll just barge in and crash on your couch. Good?" I joke, hiding the pure hapiness that was brewing inside of me. He gave one of those throaty laughs and opened the door for me.

"I will be coming back, though." I say as I walk out. "Don't think you can get rid of me that easily." He just rolls his eyes at me jokingly and says, "No, no I can't. Unfortunately." I open my mouth in mock shock as I laugh my way back to my newly-rented car. Once inside, I sigh and brace myself, for the fun was over, and now I had to face the music.
