Mitch's POV:
"Sorry about all that, the guys get...excited about these kind of things I guess." I say, crashing down on my bed.
"It's okay, I don't really mind all that much." she says, sitting down next to me. She avoids my eyes, and I think I can tell what she's thinking about. I feel my face a flush a little. I want to speak, but I don't know what to say. I hate Jerome for that comment he made, I really didn't want to have this talk with Ashley, especially not this early in our relationship.
So I won't.
"So when do you want have to leave for your...outing with Regina?" I ask casually, trying to brush off what happened downstairs. She seems to snap back into reality before replying.
"She said 2:00, but I should probably start getting ready at about one." she says. I nod, and we're quiet again. I stretch, making louder or a scene than necessary.
"Let's do something." I say, trying to keep a conversation going to avoid talking about....that.
"Like what?" she asks.
"How about...a game?" I ask, regretting my words. Oh god that sounded sexual. I think. I look up to see how she's reacted, and I can see blush color her face.
"W-what kind of game?" she asks quietly. I feel my own face flush as I correct what I meant.
"How about Minecraft?" I ask, taking my laptop from the end of my bed. "We don't have to record." She smiles.
"Okay." she says, moving a little closer to me so she can see the screen. "But we only have one computer." This time it's my turn to smile.
"That's okay." I say, moving a little bit behind her. Our bodies make contact, and Ashley seems to shrink back a little, but then leans her back against my chest and relaxes. I turn it on and log onto Minecraft before handing it to her.
"How about a Hunger Games? Not going to lie, your pVp skills need a little work." I say, smirking. She opens her mouth in mock shock.
"Well I'm sorry, not everyone can be the king of the Hunger Games." she says.
"Doesn't hurt to try." I say quietly. She punches me in the arm playfully.
We get onto the Nexus, and I /move my character into a game. Ashley doesn't bother voting for a map, instead she just runs the character around the lobby.
"Hopefully I don't get that awful space map." she says. "I always die instantly."
Of course, she gets the space map. With a groan, she runs her character away from the center, off into a small island with chests.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By a miracle, according to her, Ashley's made it to the deathmatch.
"Oh god, watch me die." she says, organizing her inventory. She hadn't encountered anyone the entire game, although it wasn't a surprise, seeing as the game itself only lasted about six minutes. I could see her hand slightly twitching on the mouse, waiting for the countdown to end. I re-position myself behind her, so that I can reach my arms around her and lay my hands on her's. When I do, she's surprised of course, and looks at me next to her. I stare back for a moment, but then we're both interrupted by the start of deathmatch. My eyes snap back to the screen, and her's do too. My hands automatically fly across the keyboard, hitting the run key I have programmed, making my character flee to the opposite side of the arena. I feel Ashley's hands underneath mine, and I guide her.
"He's so dead!" Ashley says as we kill off the last standing player, the round ending in an explosion of fireworks and "GG's" from the chat.
"And that's how its done." I say, leaning back. She laughs and leans back with me.
"Oh, so was that a private lesson?" she asks, looking at me. I smile mischievously.
"You could call it that." I say, leaning forward a bit. I hesitate, but to my surprise, Ashley grabs my neck and pulls me forward into a kiss. I close my eyes and smile a bit. I lean back even more, bringing Ashley with me until we're laying against the pillows. Just then we hear a knock on the door, and we quickly break away.
"What?" I ask, slightly annoyed. Jerome opens the door, looking a little nervous. It quickly disappears after seeing Ashley in my arms and is replaced by yet another smug look.
"Oh, sorry to interrupt again, but Ashley, I'd like to talk to you." he says, the nervousness returning to his face. I feel a little angered by him and I'm about to say something, but I'm interrupted by Ashley sitting up abruptly.
"I would love to Jerome, but I have to go!" she says. Jerome looks confused at first, but then just nods. She smiles sympathetically before turning to me.
"I'm going to be late." she says. She goes to kiss me, but then thinks better of it with Jerome standing right there, so she pecks me on the cheek. She rushes out, mumbling a short "goodbye" to Jerome.
Ashley's POV:
After nearly being late meeting Regina, I was finally sitting across from her at a small lunch table in a café. Regina has an American accent, with sleek, long black hair and a fair skin tone that illuminates her dark brown eyes.
"So tell me about the friend that picked you up. You must be pretty close, huh?" she asks, examining the sandwich in her hand. I smile a little and look down at my sandwich before replying.
"Oh, yeah. Mitch is a great...friend." I say. Although I'm not looking up, I can feel Regina's stare.
"Mitch. As in Mitchell, right?" she asks. I nod, and look up slightly.
"Which is a guy's name." she says slowly. I nod again and see a wide smile spread across her face.
"Oh my god, shut up! He's your boyfriend isn't he!" she exclaims, dropping her sandwich all together. I blush, obviously giving her an answer. She leans forward on her elbows and smiles at me.
"So...tell me more about this...Mitch." she says. Well where do I begin? I think.
