Mitch's POV:
I look down at Ashley, who's sleeping on my lap. I'm still comprehending what she told me just minutes ago, and it makes me feel even more protective over her. I knew she had a heart condition, but I had no idea how severe it was. Then it hits me. I remember her Draw my Life video she made last year, and how she said the last boyfriend she had cheated on her, and how she had been afraid to love ever since. She also mentioned how depressed it made her, and I wonder if she was referencing having an attack. I decide to ask her later.
I stroke her hair carefully, wanting to wake her up and kiss her, to tell her I would never break her like that b******d who cheated on her did. I would tell her tonight, on our date that I had so perfectly planned. It's now 4:00, so I have to wait four more hours until we head out for our special night together. It had to be perfect; it was her first first-date, and I didn't want anything to go wrong.
Ashley's POV:
When I wake up, I'm on Mitch's lap, and he's on his phone. I rub the sleep from my eyes and sit up.
"Awake now?" he asks, pecking me lightly on the lips.
"What time is it?" I ask, then smirk as I remember the old "Mitch Time" joke we used to share. "Mitch, time?" He groans at my reference and I laugh.
"I'm not answering that. You can check it yourself." he says, showing me his phone. I squint my still-tired eyes and see it's 5:00 pm. I've been sleeping for an hour.
"Why didn't you wake me?" I ask. He shrugs.
"You just looked so cute!" he says, and I laugh.
"So what do we do now?" I ask. he thinks for a minute before replying.
"I don't know, we could do...this." he says, kissing me. I don't resist, so he kisses me again, this time not as gently, and he pushes me lightly against the couch. He drops his phone next to him to re-position himself in front of me, not breaking the kiss and propping my leg up against his hip.
The movement makes me dizzy, and I feel my breath coming out short and quickly, every time I actually can breathe. His hands move down to my back, and I wrap mine around his neck, but I stop and pull away just as I reach it.
"Shouldn't we be saving this kind of stuff for tonight?" I ask, looking at him. He seems to be conflicted before answering.
"Yeah, you're probably right." he says, untangling himself from me and setting me back down on the couch.
"To be continued!" he says, and I laugh. I'm still a little dizzy from being so close to him, so I lean my head against his arm for support. He turns to kiss me on the head, and I we both go on our phones to do what we have to do.
At 6:00, Mitch gets up from the couch to leave.
"Well, I should be going. I'll be back in two hours to pick you up. Use that time to...beautify yourself, or whatever girls do to get ready. Not that you need it." he says. I kiss him lightly and send him out the door. Shortly after I close the door, I jump into the shower. I'm glad Mitch gave me two hours worth of time to get ready, because I knew I would probably need every minute of it.
When I get out of the shower and dry my hair, I get into a bathrobe and poof and curl my hair. I brush my teeth, pluck my eyebrows, and then go to pick out my clothes. After searching through my entire suitcase, I find a cute black dress. It stops above my knee and is made of satin, with see-through sleeves and an open back, and cuts off like the shape of the top of a heart in the front. I get dressed, and go into the bathroom to do my make-up. I check the time and see it's already 7:15. I have time, so I decide to do a kind of smokey eye with winged eyeliner. I finish at 7:45. With time left over, I tweet about my date, but don't post a picture, just in case.
