Ashley's POV:
I sit on my bed, waiting for Mitch to get here. In the meantime, I text my parents. They've been checking up on me ever since the fire, wanting to know where I was every second. They even tried to convince me to move back to Cheltenham, but I told them there was absolutely no way.
"Housekeeping!" a manly voice calls as I hear a knock on my door. I laugh a little before going to answer it. When I open the door, I'm greeted by his lips meeting mine, making me surprised yet pleased so that when he pulls away, there's a smile left on my face.
"Why hello there." I say, still not being able to take the smile off my face.
"Hey, sorry I had to leave last night. Um, did you get my...note?" Mitch asks, seeming a bit embarrassed. I smile and nod.
"Nice use of material, by the way. Very fancy." I joke, and he smiles.
"Did you eat?" he asks, changing the subject.
"Nah, I don't usually eat breakfast." I say, shrugging. He stares in disbelief.
"What?" I say, feeling a little uncomfortable.
"How can you not eat breakfast!" he exclaims. I laugh.
"I just don't. Can't cook, remember?" I say. He stares for a few more minutes before retreating to my kitchen.
"You like eggs, right?" he asks, looking in my refrigerator.
"Yes but-wait, you're not cooking for me, are you?" I ask in disbelief.
"Yep." is all he says. I walk over to him before replying.
"Mitch you can't do that I-" I'm cut off by him leaning over me, pushing me against the counter and pinning me there.
"And who's going to stop me, hm?" he asks, leaning his forehead slightly against my own, making me unable to speak. I try to and fail, so he just laughs a little before pulling away.
"Dammit." I whisper to myself, but I see him smile, so I know he heard me. I just watch him silently, opening the egg tray and taking out a pan. I flinch a little when he turns on the stove, hoping he won't notice, but of course he does. I try to play it off by leaning against the counter, but he gets the connection and immediately turns off the stove.
"Oh my gosh Ashley I'm so sorry, I should've known after what happened that you...I'm such an ass!" he says, pacing around in the kitchen a little.
"No, it's ok. I'm just being paranoid is all." I mutter quietly, looking down. He stops and walks over to hug me.
"No, I'm sorry for being so insensitive. I don't blame you at all." he mumbles quietly into my hair. I hug him back. I don't feel like crying, so I don't.
"We should get going anyway. I can get you something on the way there." he then says, pulling away.
"No, that's okay. I'm going to have lunch with someone later today." I say. When I look up at Mitch, I can see a faint look of jealousy cross his face. I suppress a smile.
"Oh, and who is the special person you're taking?" he asks.
"Just a person that I've known for a while. I've actually been seeing with them ever since I've started with the move. Really nice person actually." I say, smirking.
"Seeing with them? Is that some kind of English term or something for dating?" he asks. I laugh.
"Jeez Mitch, I never knew you were so gullible!" I laugh. He seems to be angry for but a second before smiling and laughing along with me.
"You're such a jag Ashley." he says, moving towards the door.
"You know you have to take me with you." I say, following him.
"Oh, but I thought you were seeing your oh-so-special friend?" he says, smirking. I roll my eyes at him.
"First of all, I was joking and seeing actually is a term for dating, secondly, Regina is my agent and also a female. Thirdly-" I pause so that I can reach up and kiss him softly.
"I'm pretty sure-correct me if I'm wrong-that I'm seeing you." I say, pulling away. He smiles a little bit.
"Okay." he says, kissing me again. I smile and pull away yet again.
"Now can I have my car back?" I ask. He laughs and we leave.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Despite my protest, Mitch does end up buying me a muffin and smoothie from Dunkin Donuts. While on the car ride, I try and drink it when he's not looking, so he doesn't get the satisfaction to know how hungry I really am.
By the time we get there, both the muffin and smoothie are gone. In my stomach. We get out of the car and Mitch looks over at me, seeing that I've downed both breakfast items. He seems a little surprised at first, but then the surprise is replaced with smugness I try to ignore.
We reach the front steps, and Mitch hesitates before opening the door.
"Do we have to go in?" he asks, turning to me. Before I can reply, the door swings open from the inside, revealing Jerome's smiling figure.
"Why hello, lovebirds." he says, inviting us inside. I stand there awkwardly so Mitch has to take my hand and lead me inside, giving Jerome a dirty look on his way in.
"Oh, hey Ashley!" Adam says from where he's sitting on the couch. I wave.
"So Ash," Jerome starts. Mitch gives him a warning look, but he ignores it. "If you're going to stay the night, I just want to make things clear. I really don't want to be woken up by #Mashley in the middle of the night." I feel my mouth drop open and my face flush entirely. I wasn't sure about Mitch, but he knew I was a virgin, and I hadn't actually given an ounce of thought to...that. he laughs at my reaction.
"I'm just kidding, Ash. Don't worry." he laughs. Next to me, I can see Mitch's face burning up along with mine.
"Wow Jerome. Like the rest of us haven't been woken up by Lorome about a million times a night whenever she stayed here. And like we won't be woken up when she comes here this week!" he exclaims, his pitch rising a little so that his voice almost cracks. Jerome stops laughing. Now it's Adam's turn to start cracking up, along with the guys who were listening in upstairs.
"Drama!" I hear Tyler call. I'm still frozen, so Mitch has to practically drag me upstairs and into his room.
"Jags." Mitch mutters as he closes the door.
