Life...Unexpected

Where to start this? I don't know.

How to say what I'm about to say? I don't know.

All I do know is that YOU MUST EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED in Life.

2 days after St. Patrick's Day I got news that changed EVERYTHING.

This news not only CHANGED my life but my family and friends as well.

Let me tell you it was not necessarily "good" news, well not for me and my family and close friends that is...for us it was more of 'sad' and "horrible" news...

19 March 2016.

That day won't ever be the same in fact NOTHING will ever be the same.

That day was the day I got news that my father had passed away.

My mum had called my roommate's phone and she used one of her IDs to key into my room, since my door had been closed, and told me my mum was on the phone crying.

She didn't know why my mum was crying and I was scared to find out why she was crying.

It kind of took her a few moments before she got the news out.

Before she said the words that changed our lives I tried to prepare myself for whatever it was.

Before she said my dad had passed away in his sleep she said

"...I really hate to tell you this over the phone but..."

In those few seconds I went through many horrific scenarios in my head

From her being sick, something bad happened to my brother, something bad happened to Spike, our very human and sassy dog <3, or something bad happened to her or my dad or someone else in our family...literally it was one of those moments that you read about in book or watch in films where the person who is waiting to hear the bad news goes through what seems like EVERY POSSIBLE horrible scenario in their head to prepare them for the worst.

Prepare them for basically ANYTING but the actual news they end up receiving.

That's what it was like for me...another one of my 'movie moments'.

To be honest, as I'm sure you may know already, NOTHING could prepare anyone to hear such news...news of someone close to you, someone who has been there for you and your family for basically your ENTIRE existence on this planet called Earth, someone who was basically you and your family's EVERYTHING from financial supporter, car problem expert, main person you go to when you need help with almost anyting, handy man, protector, best friend and SOOOOOO much more

NOTHING could prepare anyone for news like that no matter what....

To be continued...
