The morning was a lot more surprising than what I thought it would be. Of course, I knew what I was getting into last night with Dougie; but I was surprised when I woke up in a random bed with a naked Dougie beside me. "Dougie," I whispered but luckily, I didn't get a response. So I slipped out of bed and started to nimbly get dressed.
After finishing, I grabbed my phone and snuck into the bathroom in hopes of finding a brush to comb through my messy hair. Luckily, Brad kept a comb in every single one of his bathrooms to ensure that he looked his very best. I never really knew why and I never questioned why because I would have gotten an hour long rant about his good looks. I knew what I was doing. I eventually found the brush and tried my best to comb through my knotted hair without pulling any of my hair.
I left the bathroom, leaving the door open so nothing would wake Dougie up. I left the guest room I was in and made my way towards Brad's kitchen. Either than Dougie, I had no idea where anyone was; until I made it to the living room. There I noticed David Krejci lying on the couch with a bare bottom; of course, like any dumbfounded person, I stared at David until I was scarred for life.
I left David to sleep in the living room; he's going to be confused when he wakes up. I walked into the kitchen and saw that a few of the players were at the kitchen table eating cereal. Then there was Brad: "I fucking hate drinking. Who the hell would fucking drink? Only God damn idiots. Am I a God damned idiot? Hell no!" Only Brad.
"Olivia!" Tuukka yelled.
I smiled as I made my way towards Brad's cover where he stores his bowls and took one out. "Where were you last night? We couldn't find you anywhere," Daniel Paille said.
"Well, where'd you look?" I questioned.
"Everywhere... I think," Daniel told me.
"Then you didn't look hard enough," I told them. "Because I was here, all night." I took a type of cereal out of another one of Brad's cupboards and poured it out into the bowl. I took milk from the fridge and poured it into my bowl; I took a spoon, placed it in the bowl and walked towards the table and began to eat while Brad continued to rant about his drinking problem.
Halfway through eating my cereal, Dougie came downstairs. As much as I would like to say I was drunk last night and I didn't know what I was thinking; I can't deny how good it was to be next to Dougie's side yet again. "What about you, where the hell were you, rookie?" Daniel inquired.
"Having a damn good time," he replied.
Tyler came into the room behind Dougie and didn't look slightly better than Brad did. He took a seat beside Brad and placed his head in his hands. Tuukka tried to help Tyler out by giving him a bottle of water, but Tyler declined the kind gesture.
But Tyler's entrance didn't stop every from being interested in what Dougie had to say. "Oh, did somebody get laid last night?"
A smile spread across his face while he said, "You know it." He reached his hand into the fridge and pulled out a cold water bottle.
"So what was it like?" Brad asked taking time off of his ranting.
"It was like sex," he replied bluntly.
I covered my hand with my mouth to cease my laughter from coming out... and my cereal.
"But seriously, how was the girl?" Brad asked the question of the hour.
Dougie glanced over at me. "Well I don't want to make everything awkward-"
"Dougie, I am 19. I can handle what you're going to say," I assured him. "Just don't make it too graphic because I'm eating here."
He shrugged his shoulders and took a seat at the table. "I don't know if it was just because I was drunk... but holy shit," he whispered. "Mind blowing. By far one of the best experiences I have ever had."
Usually, I hated lying. Even if I were to be lying to an ex-boyfriend, I just couldn't do it. But today, I had no choice to keep my secret hidden for a very long time until everything subsided and no one could remember anything that happened last night. For Brad and Tyler that would be easy they couldn't remember anything this morning.
Adam walked into the kitchen and made his way towards the empty seat beside me. "I think one of you should cover up David."
"Why?" Tuukka asked.
"Have you seen him?"
Tuukka and Brad both stood up from their chairs and strolled into the living room and saw what I woke up to. "Brad, it's your house, cover that up." Tuukka patted his back and came back into the kitchen.
Adam took a seat beside me and kissed my cheek while Dougie stared at both of us. "Where were you last night?" he whispered keeping our conversation a private matter although basically the whole team was at the table.
"I was sleeping," I lied, "the alcohol was too much for me and I decided to go upstairs and lay down for a bit. Turns out that a bit means the whole night and the morning."
After Tuukka and Brad mysteriously left the table, they returned back with a pair of underwear, pants and a belt. Brad held them up and yelled, "Who wants to watch us dress David?"
Tuukka looked at him, his face was contempt. "You never said I was helping out! I'm not helping out!" he defended.
"Tuukka, you're helping." Brad grabbed onto his wrist and pulled him into the living room.
Everyone at the kitchen table stood up and left the room to watch the chaos that was about to happen. "I'll be back," Adam said. Once everyone who was leaving left, Dougie and I were the only two people left sitting at the table.
I took another bite of my cereal and looked at Dougie who was eyeing me. "What?" I managed to say without letting any of my cereal fall from my mouth.
"Nothing," he dismissed.
"No seriously, what?" I pressed.
"It's stupid, never mind."
"Dougie, I swear if you do not tell me what you are thinking, I will volunteer you to get the underwear and pants on David," I threatened.
"Don't take this the wrong way; I know you wouldn't do this especially when you're dating Adam." He looked into the living room to see if anyone was coming. "But... I think we slept together last night," he whispered.
I shook my head. "There's no way. I went to bed after I had a few too many drinks and went to a bedroom and locked the door behind me. I woke up alone in the bed and came downstairs to have breakfast," I assured him.
"Good," he breathed. "I hoped that we wouldn't make everything awkward between us especially while we live together for the rest of the season."
I forced a smile. A whole half season with my boyfriend and my ex-boyfriend in the same house. Nothing could get any more awkward than that.
