I was called into work earlier than normal toady. It may be regarding the poor performance of our defense that was showcased in the game yesterday. Whatever it's about, I know that this meeting was going to take a while.

I walked into the arena and made my way down to Claude's office. His door was open and I walked right in. I look at seat in the chair in front of Claude's desk.

"So are we going to talk about the offense or defense first?" I questioned Claude. He shook his head. "Oh, you want to talk about Tuukka? I don't take any notes on him, Claude. You know that."

"Olivia," Claude cut in. He narrowed his eyes down to the desk. "I didn't call you in to talk about the team. I came to talk to you about the staff... more importantly you."

I cocked my head to the side. "Me?" I questioned. "What about me?"

"A letter came in the other day, addressed to me but regarding you."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "About me? What was it about?" I questioned.

"In the letter, there have been some allegations that at your apartment, Adam and Dougie have been fighting. Mainly over you. Do you deny these?"

I shook my head. "They are true," I said. "But-"

"Has this fighting altered Dougie and Adam's play on the ice?" asked Claude.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Possibly. I don't know for sure though."

"When had the fighting started?"

"I guess ever since Dougie got injured. I've spent more time with Dougie and... I don't know, I think Adam's gotten jealous?" I voiced my theory.

Now that I think about it, Adam's never really talked about Dougie with me. Even before he arrived in Boston, Adam never spoke of Dougie. There could have been the jealousy factor that plays its part. Or it could be a totally unrelated factor playing its part.

"It's now early May. He got injured late February. Since then, Adam's been at a -7. He's gotten two goals and three assists. Olivia, the numbers don't lie." He shook his head. "Something has to change. Unfortunately, I'll be taking this out on you," he addressed, "I am suspending you as a staff member of the Boston Bruins and I am forcing you to move out of your apartment with Adam and Dougie."

For a moment, I am paralyzed with shock. I am disheartened by his words.

"Listen, Claude, it's May," I pointed out the obvious. "There's at least another month left in the season. Please," I pleaded, "let me stay on the team until the season ends. After that, do whatever you will with me."

Claude looked at me with sympathy and delivered his verdict, "Alright," he agreed, "I'll allow you to stay for the remainder of the season. After it's done, you're done."

I nodded my head. "I understand, Claude. I understand why you're doing this."

But deep down, I didn't.
