The scratches tonight are,” announced my uncle. Tonight, I was going to spend the game up in the player’s box with the scratched players. Truthfully, I loved the whole team like brothers – except Tyler… that’s just awkward – but I love being around them all the time. But tonight, there was one guy I didn’t want to sit beside. “Carl Soderberg.” Not Dougie. “Chris Bourque.” Not Dougie. “Jordan Caron.” Not Dougie. “And lastly, Dougie Hamilton.”

“Damn,” I muttered under my breath.

Everyone in the room stood up from their chairs and started to flock out of the room. My uncle however, held me back from leaving. “Olivia, have you been good lately? Have you, Adam, and Dougie gotten along?” he questioned.

“You do know, uncle that you don’t always have to ask this question after this meeting always concludes, right?” I asked him.

My uncle nodded his head confidently. “Of course I know, Olivia. I just… I want to make sure everything is alright with your boyfriend and your ex-boyfriend. Sometimes it gets complicated and awkward and it is just a giant mess. I’m just looking out for you, remember that,” he told me.

I gave him a smile. “Of course I know and thank you for that, too.”

My uncle gave me one last smile. “Well you may go now and inform the players about the scratches,” he informed me.

I nodded my head and left the office, embarking on my journey to find the scratches for tonight. I ran into Chris first and informed him that he wouldn’t be suiting up for the game tonight. He was upset but then I told him that he would spend the whole game with me and his mood changed drastically.

I stuck my head into the locker room praying that I wouldn’t see a naked body in there. Thankfully I didn’t. Brad and Tyler were sitting at their lockers as they played on their phones. “Guys,” I spoke up.

They both looked up from their phones. “Aye, ‘Liv's here!” Brad yelled throwing his arms into the air.

                “What'cha need?” Tyler asked.

                “Is Soderberg here?” I asked.

Brad and Tyler both shook their heads. “Probably still at home, after all, the game isn't for another couple hours,” Brad reminded me.

I furrowed my eyebrows at them. “Then why are you two here?” I questioned.

“What else are we going to do for two hours?” Tyler asked. I opened the door completely and walked into the room, taking a seat on a empty chair.

“I suggested drinking to pass the time–”

“I turned that idea down,” Tyler credited himself.

My eyes shot open and my jaw hung low. “The great Tyler Seguin turned down the idea to drink?” I inquired with disbelief.

Brad nodded his head. “That was just what I thought when he said ‘No, we have a game today’.” Brad set a hand on Tyler's shoulder. “Olivia, our 'lil boy is growin' up,” joked Brad.

A smirk etched its way onto Tyler's face. “I'm younger than you and I make better decisions in life,” he stated.
