Rae's POV
Lucas and his council attack me but their magic has no effect on me. This is getting boring. Finally, I have had enough and chant out a binding spell, they all hit the floor, as if they were tied up with rope. I unfreeze the guys and Gage jogs over to me. "Are you ok?" He looks me over, twice. I laugh, "I am fine." The merry band of idiots start yelling and it was giving me a headache so I slapped them with a mute spell. This causes the guys to laugh. "Couldn't you have just one that to begin with?" Tank asks. I look at him, "Now where is the sport in that? I wanted them to at least think they had a fighting chance." He laughs harder. We gather them up and put them in a prisoner transport plane, their cells are designed to block their powers. Carter walks up to me with a lovely blonde woman and a small curly blonde girl. "Rae, This is Ava and her daughter, Gwen, they are Raylyn's family." I smile at them, "Your husband is waiting for you." She starts to cry, thanking me and begging for his life. "Please, Ava, be strong for your daughter. We have much to discuss, but this isn't the time or the place." She nods, "I suppose I shall have to beg the Queen, when she wakes." Everyone looks at me with a smile. "Yes, well, I will let you talk to her when we return." With that we all load up and head home. I sleep for the whole flight back. Baby is draining.
Back at the HQ, we all go our separate ways for food, rest and showers. Everything else can wait until tomorrow. All the prisoners are locked up tight in special cells. Raylyn's family has been given a room, and so we can all relax for a minute. Well, I had more than relaxing on my mind as I pull Gage into our shower. Let's just say, it was a long, steamy shower.
I am woke up by someone knocking, I look at the clock and it's 8 am. Well, I overslept. I open the door to find a grinning Tank. "What do you need, Tank?" He bows, "You are needed in the meeting room in an hour, my Queen." I go to smack him but he dances out of the way, laughing. So I chase him down the hall, he is laughing like a hyena. Raphael steps out of his room and sees us. Raising an eyebrow he turns to me and says, "For a queen, you act like a child." I grin up at him, "For an angel, you act like an ass." and turn to go back to my room to get ready. I hear Gabe and Uriel's laughter behind me.
Forty five minutes later, I am standing in front of the HC, again. 'We need to do a press conference to announce the trial of Lucas and his council. This needs to be as public as possible, without bringing the identity of Raylyn into this. He needs to be able to have a life when this is done." Octavius says. "I agree, I have an idea, since we are the judges here, we can slightly alter the facts." I tell them, they all look confused, so I continue. "I propose we say, that we had heard whispers that Lucas was planing something, so we planted Raylyn as an undercover agent, and faked the assassination attempt that way no one knows and he isn't branded a traitor." Finally, we all agree and move forward to the press conference. That is a long and boring process and I am glad it's over.
I knock on the door to Raylyn's Room, when he answers he bows, "My Queen." Ava comes around the corner, "Oh, it's just you. Listen, I was promised an audience with the queen on my husbands behalf and I have yet to see her. I don't want to talk to her messenger, I want to talk to her directly. I think you have showed me a great deal of disrespect!" I look at her angry face then at Raylyn's horrified face and I laugh, I can't help it. This of course makes her even more angry. "Listen here, bitch, I demand to speak with the queen and I mean right now!" She screams. Her yelling caught the attention of Xavier, Uriel, Raphael, and Ovtavius. They storm into the room, but Raphael speaks first, "You ARE speaking to the Queen, and you WILL show her respect. It is because of her that you husband is still breathing." His voice is deathly calm. She freezes and looks at her husband's horrified face. The color drains from her face as she looks at the four large angry men standing behind me. Octavius is the next to speak, "If you wish for an audience with the Queen, I think it would be best that you and your husband join us in the council's Chambers in two hours. That will give the council and the Queen time to reach our decision. Good day, madam. " He nods to her and takes my arm, leading us all out of the room and into the hall. "Well, that was fun." Uriel deadpans. "Personally, I was surprised she was still standing, she called you a bitch, Rae." Xavier states. I shrug, "I was too busy laughing, that woman is clueless. I mean honestly, Raylyn called me, 'My Queen' right in front of her." I roll my eyes. "Yes, well, I do believe she needs a lesson in respect." Raphael growls. Gabe snickers, "Coming from the man that called her a child this morning." Raphael rolls his eyes, "My job has always been to make sure she is the best she can be. She is like a daughter to me and I just want her to realize her potential." I look at him, "That is the nicest thing you have ever said to me!" I throw my arms around him, hugging him. He stiffens for a second, before awkwardly returning the hug. When I let go of him him, he blushes slightly and walks off down the hall muttering something about stubborn hardheaded queens. This makes us all laugh.
After the rather interesting meeting with Raylyn, Ava, and the HC. I am in the kitchen, looking for my box of Lucky Charms. I know that it is a children's cereal but it has marshmallows, MARSHMALLOWS! I see it, but it is up on the top shelf, stupid tall people. I am stretching for all I'm worth when Tank walks in and grabs the box. "Going for this, tiny?" He taunts me. "I am only giving you one warning, Tank, hand over the cereal." He takes of running, screaming in the worst Irish accent I have ever heard, "You'll never take me Lucky Charms!" Stupid werewolves.
