Defiant Mate: Chapter Nineteen - Saying Goodbye.

Kira's POV.

It's been two days since Lisa died and I'm laying her to rest near her brother. She would have wanted that.
I dressed her myself taking care in putting on make up on her dead but beautiful face, letting a few tears run as I did. I dress her in a bright blue dress, keeping her make up simple. She was being layed to rest the in werewolf way. As she being lowered into the whole everyone will shift except for me. Saying good bye to Lisa. After I finished with Lisa. I went back to the pack house and I showered and then I got dressed. When I did I sat on the bed and tears started to flow. I'm crying a lot today and for so many reasons today would be the last time I get to see Lisa. Another was that I was thinking about all the possibilities. Lisa having a mate and pups. Us still being good friends even in old age. And their are so many things that we didn't get to do together. Was I a bad friend for killing her ? Would she still hate me in the life after ? Will I see her there when it's my turn to go ?

" Kira ? " Caleb called.

" In here ? " I answered softly.

When Caleb sees my tears he immediately becomes worried.

" What's wrong Baby ? Are you in pain ? " he asked coming to my side.

" No. " I sobbed.

" Then what is it Baby ? " he asked rubbing my back.

" It's my friend Lisa. Caleb I don't know how to say goodbye to her. " I say in a broken voice.

" You have me baby, I'm here with through your grief. You're not alone. " Caleb said pulling me in his arms.

I tried to find comfort in his words but it wasn't easy. Lisa is gone and no matter how hard I cried it won't bring her back to me. She won't be my friend again.

It was three in the evening and almost time for the ceremony to begin. Which made it so much harder. This was it my final goodbye. What do I say to her. My heart was in knots and so was my stomach. Every one was looking to me as leader to say my goodbyes but how do I do it. Where do I start and how ? I decided to started from when we became friends.

I had just finished busting tables when I bumped into Lisa. I didn't plan to stay and chat but she introduced herself before I could walk away.

" Hi I'm Lisa." She says as smiles at me.

" Kira. " I said with a smirk. I wasn't one to smile.

" Nice to meet you " she says as she put hand out for a handshake.

I took her hand and shook it. And one that day she became my friend.

More tears flow at the memory of when I first met Lisa. My first and only friend. Caleb held me close as I began.

" Good evening everyone. We are gathered here to morn the loss of My dearest and only friend Lisa De'costa.
Words cannot not describe the pain I feel at her loss---- " I broke on the last word and started crying.

Caleb took over. He held me as he spoke. I told him everything I wanted to say through mind link and he repeated the words out loud. When people around was crying and some had a sullen face. No more than mine. No one would ever know how much Lisa meant to me and how much it hurt to have her gone.
