"We're safe here, I promise. Don't worry."
Obi-Wan stuck true to his word and came back to bid farewell to Aayla and Jed when they left for Naboo. Aayla honestly thought he wouldn't do it, but it surprised her when he was there at the landing strip, smiling out to her.
Before leaving, Aayla was informed of the training she wold receive from Jed, and Anakin Skywalker. The name interested her, and she had asked for more information on the boy.
"He is the chosen one. You would do well by his side." Was what Master Windu had told her, albeit with a curious eye and a sense of anxiousness.
She had learnt that he himself was a Padawan, still being trained under Obi-Wan, and was sent to protect Senator Amidala in light of recent events.
Alongside the information on the chosen one, she was informed on Senator Amidala, and her job as a politician, the duty of protecting her given to Anakin, with Jed now being a backup for both the Senator and Aayla.
Jed had mentioned how Anakin was a close friend of his, they had practically grown up together, training side by side before Jed left for Jakku. Then, they only saw each other a couple of times when Jed returned for updates on the situation on Jakku. The situation being Aayla, and his training.
All the information tied into once, full circle. Everything linked together in one way or another. All she had to do now, for herself, was to get along with everyone. That, she had a hard time doing sometimes.
As of right now, Jed was piloting a chrome ship they were using to travel to Naboo, Aayla situated in the co-pilot seat. She could see the stars in front of her much clearer than she had when she was travelling to Coruscant in the back seat.
"You okay?" Jed asks her, fiddling with some dials and turning to face her at spare moments.
She sighed. She wanted to say yes, but so much was going on in her mind right now.
She was angry about having to leave, for starters. She wanted to get to know her father. She felt under prepared for anything, despite already graduating Youngling training and assembling her lightsaber. And she felt uneasy, about everything. But more specifically, about Anakin Skywalker.
Something about the way Master Windu said she'd do well beside him made her conscience sit awkwardly. The boys name felt familiar, like something from a distant memory, or dream. Like something she was missing.
Aayla had heard of the chosen one prophecy. It may have been been Jed who explained it to her. The Chosen one would bring the force back into balance. And so Anakin Skywalker was this supposed chosen one. Although something felt off. Something didn't quite fit. Something was missing.
And then there was that vision she had in Ilum. She saw it clear as day when assembling her lightsaber, and it scared her. It brought her pain and suffering to her core. But she couldn't tell anyone. No one must know. She knew that much.
"Yeah, just tired and annoyed that once again I'm leaving." Aayla decides to use those words to describe what she was feeling. She didn't want to tell him, not yet at least. Maybe one day she'd learn to open up and not bottle her emotions. It could do her more harm than good.
"That's understandable. I can't imagine what you're feeling but I can understand why you are. If you want you can go and get some rest. It's another long journey I'm afraid." Jed tells her, placing his hand on the back of her seat and leaning over to talk to her.
