Chapter 10: The True Identity

Ed was at the front of the line. The fog closed in and clung near them.

"Wow hide and seek is fun!" The same voice from before giggled.

"What do you want from us?" one of the warriors cried.

"I already told you, I want to play with you."

"Alright then, play with me!" Roy growled.

All of the Amestrians tugged the warriors down as Roy snapped towarrd the fog. The flames went straight through the fog and into the sand.

"All right! Though I doubt you want to play with fog." the voice giggled.

The fog condensed and a little foot stepped out of the fog. A child emerged dressed like a dreary doll. Her straight raven hair was pulled up into pigtails.

"Actually I'm not sure I prefer that anymore than I do the fog. How could I ever lay a hand on a child?" Roy struggled at the grinning face on the little figure.

"You can't go back on your word you already agreed to play with me." she giggled. Even though she was little, there was something off in that little girl's eyes.

"Yes Mustang you may have a problem with hurting children. It's understandable if I remember correctly she is close to your own daughter in age." Saleim scoffed.

"It's not often I get to play with kids around my age." the girl giggled.

"I feel that this game will be anything but enjoyable for you." The sun peaked over the horizon casting hard shadows down on their group. A frightening smile made its way across his face.

"Perfect!" his voice was Pride's as his shadows creaped up around him and then launching themselves at the girl.

"Come on!"Roy screamed and started taking off in the opposite direction.

No one protested and simply followed Roy. They ran quite a while before they were met by a line of Xingese warriors.

"Do you think they'll listen to anything we say?" Havoc scoffed.

"Think they'll let us contact central comand?" Mustang chuckled.

"Not a chance." Ed answered

Lan Fan yelled something at the warriors in Xingese.

They answered in an angry tone. Ling's voice rose up and they fell silent.

He gestured over to May and she ran over. He told her a few tings and she bowed before turning back to everyone else.

"The Emperor has explained our situation. We will be expecting the boy homunculus back here but other than him we will close off the gates completely.

Right before everyone was about to walk into the city Ed suddenly fell to his knees.

"Edw-" Mustang started before his voice caught and he was willed to the ground as well. The next to fall was Al. This was looking more like the promise day. An eye apeared and opened on Ed's arm, Al's chest, and over Roy's eyes.

"No," Riza cried. Winry and May had not seen first hand what happened to Ed and Al. but Riza saw everything. She saw Pride hold Roy down and force him to open the portal. She saw the look of utter terror in his eyes. She wasn't going to allow anyone to hold her back this time.

she grabbed the opening eye and tried to rip it off Roy's face.

A hole opened up in the sand and they all fell through leaving Mustange's subordinates Xingese warriors homunculi and Winry alone.

She was left again to sit and wait for those two to return again.

The figure grinned. "Are you tired yet?" she giggled.

Saleim stood panting at the girl. He was cut badly in some spots and didn't know how much longer he could hold out.

"I must say I underestimated you. Though I've fought tougher opponents, monster," he gritted his teeth and spit blood into the desert sand.

"This game is beginning to bore me homunculus." she sighed sitting down.

"How dare you sit in the middle of a fight!" Pride growled sending every ounce of energy he had left into one final attack.

His ultimate shadow pierced the ground countless times. the sand settled and the figure stood with a cut on her head pouring blood. Every childlike aspect left in her eyes was gone.

Only an air of annoyance lingered there in her ruby orbs.

"Who are you?" Pride growled.

"I am sin..." she stated simply in a flat tone. "brother."

"That's impossible!" Pride growled now subsided to his knees.

"You are called the oldest homunculi, maybe that's right but all of you, Pride, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, and Envy, you are all incomplete. You will never have what you most desire because you are too focused on that one sin. but I.  I am complete alone you will never defeat me." After she spoke she was gone. simply vanished into he air.

Pride hung onto the last moments of consciousness. In the distance he saw a tall figure with a blond ponytail and a cloak. Father? He though as the blackness claimed him.
