May awoke with a gasp. Cool sweat beaded on her forehead, as she lay gasping in bed. What was this feeling?
She gathered the fabric of her night shirt around her chest, in a clenched, shaking fist. It was only a dream, she assured herself.
"May, are you ok?" Winry asked sitting up on her sleeping mat.
"I had an awful dream. Alphonse was in trouble," she explained.
"Yeah, I've been worried about Ed too. We shouldn't let it get the best of us," Winry nodded toward the girl.
"It seemed so real, but I can't remember what happened." May's eyes were watering as she stared down at her long ebony hair splayed across her sleeping mat.
A small arm found it's way around her shoulder as Winry held the distressed younger girl in her arms.
Winry clenched her teeth. She also had been having terrifying dreams of the two men she loved most in her life, but Winry was used to those dreams. Those dreams reminded her of her childhood as she sat at home and simply waited to hear the news she always dreaded. She waited to hear that those two beloved men where no longer a part of this world.
This thought scared her like no other. She also knew that the younger of the two held a very special place in the girl she was holding's heart. She knew that May would be just as broken and empty if he were to be lost.
"Please, come back safe," Winry pleaded as tears flowed freely from her azure eyes.

Ed sat in the puddle of blood. Blood, something that both he and his younger brother had seen and spilled. Blood, what an ugly color. He cried out then, not saying anything in particular. His cry was simply a sound of hysteria.
He pushed his teacher aside and put his hands down on his brother's abdomen where he was stabbed. Ed quickly remembered the time in the North where he had been impaled, while fighting Kimbly.
Ed ripped open his brother's shirt and examined the bloody wound. He clapped and sent his hands flying down and his abdomen. He winced for his brother, knowing his pain. He was just relieved that he was unconscious. Now all Ed could do was wait, and hope that the evil child had not paralyzed his brother.
The laughter started again and Ed's rage flared. Izumi rested Al's head in her lap and brushed his short blonde hair from his face.
Ed shot up and charged the small homunculus. He made his automail glove into a sharpe point and sliced blindly at him, missing completely. His thoughts were no longer rational as they were soaked in the blood of his younger brother.
For many years his brother had been in an impenetrable shell and could not bleed. Never had his brother felt this much physical pain. For this, Ed would never forgive the child, homunculus.
He was thrown back by Pride's ultimate shadow as he roared.
"Why, I thought you hated the homunculi?" Ed hissed.
"My brethren are idiots I did this for her," Pride said flatly. His eyes had become like the creepy beast he really was. his voice becoming doubled and eerie.
"Are you speaking of Mrs. Bradley? How does this help her?" Ed demanded.
"You really are a moron, half pint," Ed never even heard the short joke. He tore through Pride's web of shadows and took another swing at him. Again his attack was dodged and he was sent flying back.
He pushed his automail glove out in front of him as a shadow barreled toward him. He panted and glared at the purple eyed boy.
There was no longer a single logical thought left in Edwards head. Only one thing mattered to him, his family. His brother, his only remaining, immediate family, was hurt and Ed had to make the little homunculus pay.
"Is this how you repay Mrs. Bradley!?" he hissed watching the boy scowl.
"You told my brother once that she risked her life for you! She accepted you, even after knowing the truth!" He cried.
More shadows where sent raging forward and Ed struggled to keep up. once they cleared he panted and took a step back.
A thin line of blood slowly dripped into his eye. It had been a very long time since Ed had, had to fight like this. He was close to blacking out, but he didn't dare do that while his enemy was left unscathed.
"Edward!" Izumi called over at her old student. "Be careful, do not let your guard down," she warned.
Ed simply nodded as he found a hole in Pride's defenses.
"Your arrogance never ceases to amaze me," Ed roared as he guarded himself with his glove and easily made his way to Pride.
"What?" Pride gasped as Ed cut into his abdomen before Pride tried to force him back again.
Pride focused his shadows and Ed readied himself.
Right before Ed's glove repelled the advancing shadows they stopped and dissipated.
"So it seems that humans are still the dominant species, eh Pride," hissed a manic voice.
"How!?" Pride coughed.
A shard of rock had pieced his back from the ground.
Seeing the tall man who walked up behind Pride and chuckled, Ed couldn't hold in his laughter.
"Who the hell would miss you so much to bring you back?" He called seeing the shock and terror on Pride's face.
"Please let me hear you scream, Pride! Just once it's been so long!" the manic voice laughed.
Well this definitely was a strange turn if events. "Hey! You understand what side your on this time?" Mustang growled.
"Oh trust me the humans have proved themselves above homunculi. Also I think I can get you back to Xing," The raven haired man grinned as the homunculus fell at his feet.
"And how exactly is that, Kimbly?" Roy asked suspiciously."Teleportation alchemy." He grinned.
