Chapter 7: On The Road To Xing

-On a train to Xing Roy, Riza, and the Elric brothers were in one compartment and the others in another.

     Ed kept his eyes glued on Winry who was accompanied by Fuery, Havoc, and Falman. He still didn't feel comfortable about her tagging along.

     "Ed!" Alphonse screamed grabbing his attention away from Winry.

     "What is it Al?" he asked in an annoyed tone.

     "The Fürher asked you a question," Al stated.

     Ed's attentions shifted to Mustang.

     "Edward now that your alchemical power is back we could really use you in our forces. What do you say, after this will you rejoin the millitary?" Mustang asked.

     "Not to be rude but, not a chance," Ed stated without hesitation.

     Everyone was stunned by his frank answer.

     "I'm sorry Führer but the only reason I joined the millitary was to return my brother's body back to his original state. I have no intention of going back to that hell, I payed the tole for my sins and now I just want to live in peace and research alchemy to help and save others." Ed explained looking straight at Mustang.

    "I can respect your view Ed. it is a shame though to lose your abilities," Mustang comended.

     they all were not far from the Xing check point to make sure everyone was allowed to enter Xing. The train haulted as they reached the check point. A young Woman dressed in traditional Xingese Robes followed by a warrior in a mask and black hood and idly wearing a sling on her left arm. They went on there routine search of the cabins asking for tickets and searching bags.

     When they reached ours the young woman in the robes saw us and grinned.

     "Alphonse you came to visit me!!!" the young woman cried launching herself into Alphonse's arms.

     "May Chang is that you?" Al asked wrapping his arms shyly around the woman.

     "Yeah who'd you think it was silly," May grinned and reliesed Alphonse.

     "Princess we must finish the check then we can show our old friends to the emperor." said another familiar voice.

     "Lan Fan?" Ed asked.

     "Yes and it is good to see all of you again I think the emperor will be verry pleased to see you all as well." she greeted bowing.

      "Why are you checking trains? Shouldn't you be looking after Ling?" Ed asked.

      "The emperor heard an important person from Amestris was going to be arriving here on a train with an important message concerning our country, and asked me to escorted them to the palace." Lan Fan explained.

     Then the amestrians were escorted off the train and taken by camel to the emperor's palace. Ed's automail screamed. The metal burned the flesh on his leg.

     Ed looked to the front of the group. Lan Fan too looked to be in some pain from her automail. Then Ed realized her automail arm was in a sling.

     "Hey, Lan Fan is your automail broken?" Winry asked beating Ed to it.

     "Yes it seems I'm not completely useless without my arm. Though it would be nice if I could use it again." Lan Fan sighed.

      "Well then it's a good thing I came along," Winry smiled throwing Ed an "I told you so" look. Lan Fan smiled at her as other warriors came running up to them.

     "Come quick! the palace has been overtaken and the emperor is now engaged in a fight!" one of them yelled.

      Lan Fan gasped, "No I feel an inhuman presence. We must find the emperor now he could be in danger!"

      The amestrians exchanged looks none of them seemed to be alarmed.

     "Now who do you think would make a flashy entrance into the Emperor's palace who gives off an inhuman presence?" Ed smirked.
