I know what your thinking that 'I doesn't matter with the scenery/background.' When it comes to Wattpad I have never seen people use the right colour, symbols and signs for their stories, yes you cannot show it but you can describe it, to do this right you have to know what you are symbolise.
For example a environment that has ,blue can represent peace and youth but negatively it can represent coldness and fear, this is called colour meaning where it tells us the meaning of colours in words.
A symbol in a scene is important and has to fit in with the dialogue of what the character is saying, also body language is really important because you don't always have to use emotions you can creatively use this, for example if a character is fiddling with their clothing it shows us a sign of being nervous.
It is completely up to you whether you want to do this tip of not.All stories cannot be perfect.
