Chapter 1

"Elena! Elena! Elena!!!!"

I can hear Lucas calling my name over and over. Groaning, I can feel my bed bouncing up and down from Lucas' childlike jumping. You'd never believe he was turning 19 in two months.

As I'm beginning to sit up and stretch, I look at the clock. Only to see a big 4:00 am flashing in big bold red lettering. Frustrated at being woken up so damn early, I throw myself back onto my bed and drag my covers over my head.

"Come on Elena! We have to train before school! Remember? Alpha Xavier said it's mandatory now!" Lucas is yelling in my ear at this point, and all I can focus on is not punching him in the throat. I will never comprehend why he thinks he must scream everything he says.

Lucas has always been the loud, obnoxious one out of the two of us.
Luke and I have known each other since we were babies. Our parents have been best friends since high school, when Lucas' father moved here from his former pack with his parents. Lucas is the son of Beta John and Beta female Lucinda, who are also my god parents. Lucas is 5 months older than me, although I act way more mature than he ever has. He takes great pride in knowing that he is the future Beta of this pack. All he is waiting for is for me to find my mate, so I can become the Alpha.

Yes, that's right. I'm the future Alpha of the White Water pack. And yes, you're right again. I am a girl.

Many are shocked when they hear that a girl is in line to take the Alpha role, but quickly get over it when they feel the power radiate off of me. Of course, once I find my mate I will be considered the Alpha Female, otherwise known as the Luna, and my mate will be the Alpha. Unlike other females with Alpha blood, I am not going to move into my mates pack. They are going to become my packs Alpha.

The White Water pack is the largest and cruelest pack of the world. Not only are we feared in the US and neighboring countries, but we are feared by packs across the sea also!
We take our pack very seriously, which means absolutely no remorse when it comes to trespassers, treason or rouges.

Alpha Xavier, other wise known as my father, has been the meanest man to rule our pack in centuries. But to his pack members and his family, he is the sweetest man alive.

"Elena! Are you ready yet??? It's time to go!" Hearing Luke's loud voice coming from downstairs, I hurry up and throw on a pair of black sneakers to go with my work out outfit.

My outfit consisted of a black and white striped Nike sports bra, and a pair of black Capri leggings. Throwing my hair in a high ponytail, I rush out my bedroom door.

"Coming!! God, must you be so pushy?" I yell coming down the steps knowing he still heard me even though he was already outside.

"I heard that El! Don't think I won't get you back"

Suddenly, I lifted off the ground and I can feel the wind whipping around my face as I stare as my best friends back.

"Luke let me down! I can walk myself ya know!!!"

"Well after all you are the one that's made us late"

Huffing, I relax my body against his shoulder waiting for him to make it to the training grounds.

I know we've made it when Luke stops dead in his tracks and drops me on the floor. Wondering what made him stop so suddenly, I get up off the ground only to be met with the chest of one very pissed off Alpha.

Looking up through my eyelashes, I mumble, "Hi daddy".

" WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT BEING HERE AT 4:15 AM SHARP ELENA!!!!!" His voices echoes through out the forest and the ground even shakes a little as well.

I look around to see everyone staring at me with blank faces.

Boy this should be one fun training session.
