   *Narrator's POV*
Several weeks later, after the conquest of the East, word had spread through Compoundia about the Ice Conquest. Claressa was in her chambers when Kara came:
"My queen, Eron and I are waiting for you in the council room. A raven came. You'd be interested in the words that came along." - Said she calmly, but worried.
Claressa followed Kara, neither of them saying a word:
"My queen." - Eron said with a bow.
"What says the letter?" - Claressa asked right away.
"Read it yourself." - Kara said, as she handed the letter to the queen.
"Farcelia of the West." - Claressa murmured, as she had recognised the broken seal.
"Claressa of the North, I Farcelia of the West want no war. Your "Ice Conquest" will bring Compoundia only pain and misery. Terminate your attempts of conquering Compoundia. If you do so you will only have to kill the dragon you have hatched and return the East to Willow of the East. If you don't, I will be forced to join forces with Delia of the South. If it comes to that, not only you will suffer, but your kingdom, your people will suffer. Choose wisely."
"What is your advice?" - Claressa asked, visibly concerned.
"I say we do what queen Farcelia says, my queen. It is our safest option." - Kara said with hope that the queen will hear her.
"And you Eron?" - Claressa asked the captain of her army.
"I do not know, my queen. Kara is certainly right. Doing what Farcelia of the West demands is the safest thing to do. If she joins Delia of the South, they will be unstoppable. Even a dragon won't stop them, but ..." - Eron said, but there was something he didn't want to say.
"But what?" - The queen asked.
"Nothing, my queen." - Eron sighted.
"I will be in my chambers, I will think. - Claressa said, as she was leaving the room.

In the evening of the same day, Eron visited her:
"Have you taken a decision yet, my queen?" - The soldier asked, smiling.
"Eron, I don't know what to do anymore." - The queen answered immediately, as she could't keep it to herself anymore. - "Kara speaks to me, only when it's necessary. It was so easy at first."
"One battle doesn't win the war, my queen." - Eron said.
"Oh don't worry, I've realised that by now." - The queen briefly smiled.
"I didn't want to say this in front of Kara, but I don't think you should stop now." - Eron said and the words surprised Claressa.
"Why not?" - Claressa asked, as their eyes met.
"If you stop now, your people will lose their respect for you. They will think you are weak. You aren't, are you?" - The soldier asked as his face was moving closer to the queen's.
"And what do you suggest?" - Claressa, not paying attention.
"The West is near. If we attack surprisingly at night, we will have very good chance at taking the kingdom." - Eron spoke, but he too wasn't paying much attention.
"Something else?" - Claressa asked, as they were only a few inches away.
"Yes, actually. I might lose my head for this, but it will be worth it." - Eron said, as he grabbed Claressa by the waist and kissed her. The queen felt a warmth that she hadn't felt before. She gave in his embrace and time stopped for both of them.
