Chapter 31- Telling

"I'm sorry Mrs. Lorah, we're not sure when she'll wake up, that's is if she does."

"What do you mean?"

"She could be out for another day, week, month or years. the damage done to her was great."
I heard walking away, someone rubbed my hand, kissed it, then I heard more walking away.

Forcing my eyes open, bright florescent lights filled my vision and my head started pounding.

Not recognizing my surroundings,  I looked around and realized I was in a hospital.  Then I noticed IVs going into my arm, and my left arm was in a sling.

I went to scratch my forehead,  and I felt that it was wrapped.  My left shoulder was also wrapped.

The memories of the car crash came flooding back to me.  Instantly,  I thought of Marley.

The door opened,  then quietly closed. I couldn't see who it was,  but heard them talking on the phone and smiled.  I could recognize that voice from anywhere.

"Cody?" I croaked,  my throat dry.

"Oh my gosh. Sophia your up!" Cody came over to my bed and lightly kissed my forehead.

"Is Marley Okay? Where is she? "
Cody chuckled. "Surprisingly, she somehow had less injuries than you and was dismissed sometime last week."

I frowned. "Last week? How long was I out?"

"The accident was a few weeks ago Sophia."

"WHAT?! There are so many things that have to get done for the concert. I need to pack my things.  An-"

"Babe, Jane called 1D's manager,  you're not touring with them anymore.  You lost a lot of blood and no one knew when you would wake up."

"Oh."

"It's good to see that you're up Sophia! It's a huge relief." A doctor came walking in.

Cody sat on the edge of my bed as the doctor pulled up a chair to the foot of the bed. 

The doctor gave me a glass of water that I quickly started to drink.

"Now, Sophia.  I'm sure you thought of this since you've been up,  and I'm happy to inform you, that you didn't lose the baby." she smiled.

I chocked on my water and Cody swallowed the gum he was chewing.

"I - I'm pregnant?" my heart was racing.

"Yes. You are.. I thought you would have known."

"I'm sorry.  I'll be right back.  I have to go check on another patient." the doctor looked at her watch and walked out of the room. 

I was speechless. Cody looked at me. 

"We are going to be parents. Yu-you are going to have a baby. Our baby. You are going to be a mom. I am going to be a dad" A tear came to his eye. He leaned over a softly kissed my lips.

I smiled,  but deep down, I knew the baby wasn't his.  It was Sam's. Cody and I used protection. Sam and I didn't.

I started sobbing. Cody sat on the bed, and rubbed circles on my back as he held me in his arms.

"It's okay," Cody whispered into the top of my head and then kissed it. "we'll get through it together."

Hearing Cody say that made me cry even more, because he was so sweet.

"How am I going to tell my mom?" I asked a few minutes after I calmed down.

"We'll tell her together." he mumbled into my hair, leaning back in the bed.
