Cody and I sat around the fire pit in the Simpsons' back yard. Logan went home and Alli was inside looking for graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. It was probably about 8:30-9:00 at night. My hair was still damp from the sea water. I shivered as the wind blew by. "I'm so cold." I complained as I pulled my knees into the chest and hugged them. "You can wear my sweatshirt." Cody suggested. "Cody no, keep your sweatshirt." I protested. He raised an eyebrow. I sighed, "Fine." he smiled and hopped up off the chair. I stood up too. I put it on, then he zipped the zipper for me. He held his hands together behind my lower back, and just left them there, looking into my eyes.
I cleard my throat. "Cody?" I quietly asked.
"Sophia." He sounded like he wanted to say more.
"Cody listen." "Sophia. listen." We said at the same time. I laughed. "You first." He told me.
I sighed. "Ok." I hesitated. 'Do I really want to tell him?' 'Yes.' 'No.' 'Yes.' 'No.' 'Yes.' I battled with my self mentally.
"Cody, I-uh-lo-I." I just kept stuttering and getting caught on words. 'Come on Sophia! Just tell him.' Cody raised an eyebrow. Before I even knew what I was doing, I kissed him. I.Kissed.Him. No he didn't kiss me. I.Kissed.Him.
He must've been stunned because, it took him a second or two to kiss me back. When I kissed him, I felt tingles go through my body and I got goosebumps.
"Um, Sophia?" I heard Alli's voice, and I literally jumped 4 feet back and almost into the fire.
"I'll be right back." I slurred and then rushed into the house. I heard Alli following me.
"Sophia," I ignored her calling me. "Sophia!" Alli grabbed my wrist.
"What Alli?"
"Girl your confusing me, you tell me you are with no one, then while we are surfing you tel me you got back with Christian, and then I see my brother and you kissing? Can you please tell me what is happening?"
"I don't know Alli. I mean, just something drew me to him and made me kiss him, I don't know what, I mean, I don't want to love him because of what he put me through, but what if I never stopped? What if I just piled up anger and madness on top, and it is slowly wearing away?"
"I don't know Phia. Only you can answer that. But you have to make up your mind...and do it fast. Right now, you're not being fair to either of those boys."
"You are right Alli."
I walked outside and over to a still surprised, confused, and shocked Cody. I took his hand into both of mine and looked him in the eyes. "Sophia, I'm really confused right now, what are we?" Cody cut into my thoughts. I sighed. "I'm sorry Cody, I can't do this. I'm sorry, I just can't." A single tear ran down my cheek. I then walked away and back into the Simpson house.
*Sorry it is so short. I just felt this is a good ace to end this chapter + a lot has happened. Sooo yea. I hope you like it. VCF!!!!
