Jesse's pov

"The baby will be coming any day now."

I stared up at Sally with wide confused eyes.

"It's too soon, isn't it? I've only been pregnant for two months, that's not enough time for a baby to grow and develop, is it?"

"Have I lied to you once this whole time?"

"No, but___________."

"Then trust me, your pup will be beautiful and you will love him as soon as you see him."

"I will never love any pup that's the offspring of that monster."

Sally just smiled, pressing a gentle palm against my stomach.

"I wish I could explain everything to you right now, Luna, but I have to think about your safety before anything else."
"Why would I be in danger?"

"That's right, you don't know . . . our pack has been searching for you since you dissapeared and now that they've discovered that you're being held prisoner here________."

"They're going to save me."

"Of course and when you're rescued and it's revealed what's happened to you, there will be war between our packs."

"I don't want anyone to know the truth. If our pack finds out that I've been raped again and again by the monster that killed Chris, that I've borne his pup . . .  I've failed my mate and our pack, Sally and I don't think I'll be able to face them without begging for death."

Sally's smile fell, her gentle hand still stroking my stomach soothingly in spite of her eyes staring at me sternly.

"Of course the Silver Moon Pack would blame a vulnerable wolf with no fighting skills to speak of whose all of five foot six and one hundred and forty pounds for not being able to fight off a stronger wolf, who's an Alpha by the way, six foot one and two hundred and ten pounds, all muscle and a trained warrior from the time he could walk. You should be ashamed for not being able to defend yourself against those odds."

A small smile crossed my lips, I knew Sally was right.

"How do you know how much he weighs"

"Years of practice and stop thinking this is your fault."

My smile turned sad.

"How could you tell?"

"I was there when you arrived at our pack and I've always been watching over you. Every time something happened, you would always find a way to put the blame on yourself . . . even when you had nothing to do with the situation. It's one habit I was glad you stopped."

"I-I'm sorry . . . I know no-one would blame me, but my pup, even if I accept him . . . how can I expect the pack to accept a pup whose sire is the man that killed their Alpha."

"Don't worry, Luna Jesse, our pack will love your pup and I will make sure you both get home safely."

A sudden sharp pain went through my stomach and I let out a wince, feeling Sally's hand go still.

"W-What is it?"

"It's time."

"I thought you . . . I thought you said I had a few days!"

"I guess your pup didn't want to wait."

"But it's too soon!"

"Your baby is perfectly strong and healthy, Luna.  He's his sire's son after all."
