You allowed Charlie to drive your car today, following Sam, Dean and Cas through the streets as they lead you to where they believed they needed to be next. You had listened to what they said about today's travels, but right now it wasn't what you were thinking about. Your head was in the clouds (some would say literally) thinking about things that had happened while you were an angel. What? You were feeling nostalgic. Totally normal for a human, right?

One angel's story in particular stood out to you today; Theomore's.

Angels of Garrisons had very particular jobs when they weren't being ordered to carry out errands etcetera by their superiors.

Theomore's case is one that shows the downside of having to obey to your superiors.

Theomore was an ignorant, self-indulged angel. He had an "unhealthy interest in humans and human desires". You didn't want to think about what the angels meant by that.

Theomore was the superior of nine other angels that his Garrison held.
How he became a leader was a mystery to many. He would order his soldiers to leave their posts, so that he could "indulge in the human desires" as Nolatonal had informed you (one of the soldiers meant to be under Theomore's care). He had said more, but you repressed the words until they were nought but dust in your mind.

Theomore was leader of the thirteenth Garrison and each Garrison's particular job was to watch over different parts of the world, but they weren't specified to just cities or just countries, no. These parts of the world were set to those that were carefully balancing on the edge of disruption and peace. Examples that came to mind were Pompeii's devastating volcano eruption, London's Killer Fog and the Union Carbide Gas Leak. All completely tragic and killing many thousands of humans.

Your mind moved back to the thought at hand. Theomore's thirteenth Garrison were to hold a watchful eye over a city many may know of.
Chernobyl.

Chernobyl was a bustling city filled with hard-working people that grew up to mainly work in factories in the city that they lived and loved. They would visit the beaches with their friends and family, they would work hard to earn a living and they would play at the Pripyat fairground on days they could travel to their neighbouring city and take rides on the now-famous Pripyat Ferris wheel.

Theomore's job, as well as his soldiers' job, was to keep the city steering in the right direction, as this city was known to be on the edge of collapse. One moment could end it all, so this made more wonder: how the hell was Theo the leader of this obviously high priority watch?!
Theo never cared for anyone but himself and everyone knew this. Everyone, but the Superior Angels of the Garrisons. No one could ever get them to believe that their so-called top-notch leader was a slacker. No one. Therefore, the soldiers of the thirteenth Garrison had to continue on with following their superior. Nothing was ever done until one day, Theomore sent his soldiers on a long-winded mission for no good reason. Being in charge had it's perks: he never needed a reason.

Sometime in the 1970s he had made this decision. Maybe he felt reckless or just was tired of doing his job, so went to explore earth for a while, always coming back whenever his superiors were scheduled to arrive along with his soldiers and then telling them to leave, once again. His soldiers were worried. Watching every little change the city was making, pushing itself almost over the edge. Never being able to lift a tongue against their leader for allowing the danger to worsen.

In the late 1970s, the city made a larger change. It had built the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
Employees began work in 1977 and everything actually seemed to be going well, but not for long. The power plant lasted nine years until changes in destiny and in lives were obvious, by which point, it was too late.

Garrison thirteen's commander hadn't shown up when the superior Angels came knocking and no one knew where he was. This confused everyone and they soon understood why. He was hiding. That night, on April 26th 1986 a few employees ran a late-night power failure stress test on one of the plant's nuclear reactors, many safety regulations had been dismissed and there were many reactor design flaws, which caused the reactor to then explode, taking the lives of employees inside the building and polluting the air with an open-air graphite fire which went on to burn for nine days, infecting people with radiation syndrome. Soon the entire city was evacuated from their homes and quickly became a ghost town.

Everyone in the city was gone and the hunt for Theomore began. It didn't take long to find him and the Angels from higher up finally believed what everyone had been saying about him. He was stripped of his grace and his wings were torn off. He was slammed to the earth and disregarded by all angels, trapped between the cities of Chernobyl and Pripyat to live out his eternal sentence. Forever barred from returning to Heaven.

Many tourists that visited the city came across a mute citizen who they just thought was refusing to leave his home. Theomore was never able to leave and lived out his guilt as an old, sour man with no voice. Many other angels that were like Theomore quickly cleaned themselves up, finally seeing that none of this was a joke to be taken lightly.

You continued to stare out of the car window as you thought of this.

"Y/N? You OK?" Charlie's voice faded back in and you jumped a little. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you."

"Hm? No, no. Sorry, I was just off in my mind a little, there. Sorry about that." You replied.

Silence ensued.

"Hey... um... seems like we still have a bit of a journey... mind me asking what's on your mind?" Charlie timidly asked. You thought about it for a second and saw no harm in telling her, so that's exactly what you did.

"Whoa, wait! One angel was the cause of all that destruction??.. damn." She gazed at the road ahead of her, her mind soaring through emotions and thoughts.
"D'you think he's still there?" She perked up.

"I don't know... maybe." You thought out loud.

"Well, maybe we should give Pripyat a visit someday and give an asshole a punch in the face!" You chuckled at her reaction and decided that yes, she's definitely adorable when she's feeling kick-ass. You smiled as the car rolled to a halt and the boys got out of the Impala just ahead of you.

Okay, so this is a hella long chapter, I know. I was meant to publish this a while ago, but the chapter somehow deleted itself and I had zero motivation to re-write it and publish it until now. I'm finally able to move on! I hope you liked this chapter! Please give it a vote and add this story to your library to know when I publish next, I usually try to do it on a schedule, but I've been messing that up a lot, lately. I'm sorry, guys! Have a great Halloween and stay scary!😄😊
