chapter 5

anyways I was skating around town to see if there's any place I can get a job. Ice cream shop? Cafe? oooh there's a nice cafe that's hiring. I'll go there. It's not Starbucks so I won't be seeing the guys when I'm working thank god. I walked into the cafe & went up to the counter.
"Hello ma'am how may I help you today?" A sweet lady asked
"Hello. Uhm can I get a job here?" I asked
"haha of course sweetie. Come to the back with me & I'll get you your papers." The lady said
"Alright thank you. Oh what's your name btw?" I asked
"I'm Mary , and you?" She asked
"I'm Christine" i smiled
She gave me the papers & some info on the job. When we finished she gave me a free cup of coffee wooooh score!
As I was walking out I bumped into someone
"Oh shit sorry.." I said
"Oh no my bad im sorry." what sounded like a guy said
I looked up to see a good looking guy maybe around my age.
"Hello" he said smiling
"hiii." I said smiling
"What's your name?" He asked
"I'm Christine. & you?" I asked
"I'm Carter. It's nice to meet you Christine" he said smiling
Wow he has a nice smile.
"haha it's nice to meet you too" I said
"Where ya headed?" He asked
"eh probably just gonna skate around for a while. maybe head to the park or beach." I said
"May I join? A pretty lady like you shouldn't be alone." He said winking
I was kind of hesitant but I ended up giving in.
"Of course" I said smiling
We walked around for a bit & went to the beach & park. He's a really nice guy. He's cute too but idk if I can fully trust him...
It was kind of getting late so I decided to go home which of course I didn't want to but I had to.
"Hey Carter uhm I have to go. Today was a good day thank you." I said smiling
"Awwh okay. Wait before you go can I get your number?" He asked
"uhm. yeah sure." I said
I gave him my number & said our goodbyes then went our separate ways. I skated back home. I slowly walked inside. once I stepped inside the guys immediately ran up to me & grabbed me by the hair & threw me to the ground.
"You never run away from us when we're talking to you!!" Jc said
"Why are you home late?! Where were you?!" Sam said
"I'm sorry...I uhm I went to get a job." I said
They glared at me & started beating me up. Not surprised. this time was kinda worse tho...they grabbed a belt & started whipping me. I screamed in pain letting all the tears flow out.
"Agh!!! Stop!!! Please!" I begged
"Shut up!" Kian said slapping me
this went on for about 10 more mins. When they finally finished I ran upstairs to the bathroom & sliced my wrist 3 times. I took a moment before washing up. I took a shower & got dressed then went to my room. I was in so much pain cause of the belt. I was about to get in bed when there was a knock on my door.
"Christine can I come in? It's me connor" he said
"no...you're gonna hurt me again." I said kinda cornered up in my room
"no I won't I promise. it's just me." He said
I got up & unlocked the door & ran back to the corner.
"okay...come in.." I said
Connor walked into my room & sat on my bed.
"Christine...I'm so sorry" he said softly
I just sat there shaking
He tried to sit next to me but I just moved further
"I'm so sorry about all those beatings. I'm so sorry about this recent one. I didn't know they would go that far." He said
"okay..." I mumbled
"Christine..I've liked you for a very long time & I hated seeing you get hurt everyday. It hurts me cause now...I love you." He admitted
I chuckled
"What's so funny?" He asked confused
"If you loved me you would've stopped them. If you loved me you would've helped me. But whatever. This is probably a trick. You can leave my room now." I said
"Christine.. I'm not lying. This isn't a trick. I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." He said
"You're funny for thinking im gonna forgive you. Please leave now. The guys are probably just gonna burst in any sec saying this is all a joke." I said tearing up
"Christine.." He started
"Leave. Please" I said
He stared at me for a while then finally got up & left. Once he left I locked my door. I heard the guys in the hallway
"Aye good job connor haha no one would like her. She's such an ugly fatass" Jc said
"Haha I know." Connor said
haha wow i knew it. it's whatever though.
i got into bed & right when i closed my eyes my phone vibrated. i checked the screen to see a text from an unknown number. uhm? i opened the text
"Hello cutie it's Carter!"

"awh haha hey carter" I replied
"sorry if I woke ya up but I was wondering if ya wanted to hangout tmrw?" he texted back
"oh yeah sure!" I said
"kk I'll pick ya up around 12?" he asked
"I'll be ready by then! (:" I said
"alright ! See ya tmrw cutie goodnight sweet dreams<3" he said
I blushed. how adorable. I plugged in my phone & went to bed.
