The Golden Throne

The final showdown Pt. 2

"This is pathetic. You should be dead by now," Zultan spat. "No matter, no one is a match for Blaziken," he grabbed his last Pokeball and threw it out.

"Zirrkern," a female Blaziken appeared in front of Zultan.

"Ego, we can do this!"

"Boar!" Ego bellowed.

The two Pokemon eyed each other curiously. Ego the Emboar smashed his fists together and his flaming beard intensified. Blaziken got into a graceful attack pose and flames burst out from her wrists.

"Mega Punch!" Hilbert commanded. Ego lunged towards Blaziken and punched her. Swiftly, Blaziken caught Ego's fist, elbowed his face and slammed her palm against Ego's chest- all in under a second. He was driven several feet back.

Ego ran towards Blaziken again, but Blaziken dodged out of the way and kicked Ego's back. Ego fell forward and broke his fall with his hands. Ego turned around. Blaziken leapt into the air to pulverise Ego with her fists. Ego parried the attack, kicked Blaziken in the stomach and hopped back up. The two Pokemon charged at each other, Blaziken moving faster than Ego. They both punched forward, and they both moved their heads away to evade their foe's punch. A dust cloud whipped up into the air. Blaziken kicked Ego's knee, knocking him off balance.

"IIIIIMBECILE!" Zultan screamed delightfully.

Blaziken punched Ego under the chin and broke Ego's snout with her skull. Blaziken delivered a round-house kick. Ego caught Blaziken's flaming leg with his hands and swung Blaziken round and round- and launched her away. Before Blaziken could crash against the wall, she stomped the wall with both her legs and launched herself onto the ground. She dashed towards Ego at blinding speed and punched towards him. Ego punched as well, and their fists bashed against each other. Electricity sparked in the air. Blaziken back-flipped away, landed and caught her breath. Ego was panting tiredly as well. Hilbert observed the two Pokemon. They were evenly matched in raw power, but Blaziken had an edge over Ego in terms of speed.

I can win this. I just need the right strategy, he told himself.

Blaziken charged at Ego and delivered a barrage of kicks. Ego blocked all of them before they could deal any serious damage. Blaziken back-flipped again and landed gracefully several feet away. Ego touched his snout. It was warm and wet. He looked at his hand and saw that it was smeared in blood.

"Let me rob you of whatever hope you have left," Zultan said. He pulled up the sleeve of his clawed hand and revealed a Mega Ring.

"N-No!" Hilbert clenched his fists and took a step back.

A blinding light enveloped Blaziken. The shape of her silhouette changed into something taller and sleeker. The light faded away, revealing the commanding, yet elegant form of the Mega Blaziken.

"Buddy," Hilbert chuckled tiredly, "if there's any hidden form you never told me about; now's a good time to show it." Ego snorted.

"Low Sweep!" Hilbert shouted.

Ego dashed towards Blaziken to kick her shin. Before Hilbert could even blink, Ego was already flung towards the other end of the chamber. "What speed," Hilbert's eyes grew wide in horror, "this is insane!"

Ego got back up onto his two feet. He looked up to see Blaziken already in front of his face. She uppercut him hard and sent him flying towards the ceiling. She launched herself upwards and bashed him back down. Ego crashed onto the ground, cracking the floor. Ego quickly got onto his feet again. Blaziken brought both her fists down onto him. He raised his arms to block the attack. Her strength was unimaginable- jolts of pain shot up from his arms all the way to his spine. He could not bear the pain, he had to bring his arms down again.
