chapter 19

"hey, taehyung! where are you going?" yoongi called out for him as he saw the blonde dash backstage.

when taehyung didn't respond and instead ran swiftly past him, yoongi yelled once again,"kim taehyung!"

'it's got to be her, there can't be anyone else who i can think of that looks like that.' taehyung's thoughts swirled around his head and he was so focused on them that he even ignored his hyung's call.

"valencia, valencia, valencia. jesus fucking christ, where in hell have you been?" he whispered to himself as he reached outside, gasping for breath.

there in front was a girl with a shocked and horrified expression on her face.

"shit, shit, shit, shit! i can't believe he noticed me, i even wore a disguise and everything. i knew i shouldn't have risked it," she cursed under her breath as she shoved her hands inside her pockets.

she had sprint outside hastily right after the moment she and taehyung locked eyes with one another and was now standing outside of the concert hall. after she recollected her breath, she decided to go back home until a lean shadow approached her.

"valencia?" it spoke.

valencia's eyes widened.

"it's you right?" he said again, his deep voice slightly cracking in the middle of his words.

she didn't know what to say or what to do. she just stood there, frozen in panic hoping for a miracle that this was just a bad nightmare and she would wake up pretty soon.

"no response? you couldn't have come here just to gawk at pretty boys. admit it, you were looking for me right?" his features came visible under the streetlight that stood above them.

valencia took a sharp breath as she saw the face of kim taehyung again. just as she imagined, he was still the same handsome asian boy who bought too much msg for his fit body. the boy who immediately broke through the walls of her guarded heart. the boy who made her experience the feelings that she never thought she could ever feel after being diagnosed with anorexia.

"i-i thought you died back then, how are you-? did you.. lie?" he asked, the pain slowly clouding his eyes.

valencia wanted to shake her head no and just jump into his warm arms but she knew that she no longer had any chance with him. not like she ever did. knowing that she would regret her action, she nodded her head. the pang of guilt shot through her as she saw the boy in front of her both shocked and destroyed.

"so you really did want me to forget about you."

valencia's heart shattered.

"fine then. have it your way," he whispered, and she could tell that this wasn't just hurting for her but for him as well.

"call me when you're ready to stop being so self centred," he roughly said, giving her a hard shove on the shoulder as he passed by.

once taehyung was out of the light and into the shadows once again, valencia dropped to her knees and sobbed what was remaining of her.
