The story of James and Lily

The proposal

James POV
It's New Year's Eve and we're throwing a party at my house tonight. Lily came back from Mar's really early today to she could help set everything up for the which has been a great help, honestly I don't think I can do it all without her. My mum and dad have been away since yesterday and won't be back till after New Years so I really do need her.
They've been home quite a bit recently but I know something is going on with them I'm just not sure what. Voldemort is gaining power and I can tell it's scaring everyone. Iv never seen my parents truly threatened by anything. If they're worried then maybe we all should be.

"James come help me"  I hear Lily call.
I walk into the main front room, she's over near the archway leading into the dinning room with a sad pout on her adorable little face. "I can't reach" she wines holding up the banner in her hand and pointing to the top of the archway. "Aw lil" I laugh taking it from her and hanging it up where she wanted.
I kiss her temple and try to hold back my laughter. "It's not my fault I'm small" she protests as I run my hand through her hair. "I love that your small it's what makes you so adorable" I grin stroking her cheek.
"Well you have to say that" she laughs pushing my hand away and going to help Remus with the food.

It's now 6:30 and people are supposed to start arriving around 7:00 so we're all just about ready now. Well me and the boys are.
Marlene got here earlier and her and Lily have been upstairs doing god knows what ever since.

Lily's pov
"Here let me" Mar says as she walks over and helps me with the zip on my dress.
It's a dark red that surprisingly goes very nicely with my hair and clings to my body finishing just above my knee. "Thanks" I beam sighing in contentment as I run my hands through my hair, it's straight again thanks to a lot of work from Mar. Due to how thick it is it takes a long time to do properly which it the main reason we've been up here so long.
Mar is wearing a black pencil skirt with a black of the shoulder top and watching heals, her hair is its natural straight with the front pinned back. "Right I think we're done" she smiles fastening the clasp of her neckless.
I take one last look in the mirror and turn to leave but my path is blocked my Natalie sitting right in front of the door. "Hello miss Natalie" I grin picking her up and holding her tight to my chest. "I can't believe you actually trusted James with her last night" mar laughs as she strokes Natalie's head. "Well he was really good with her while we were away and I was going to have to do it eventually"
"I suppose it's good practice for when you have to leave him with a baby" she says as she opens the door and leaves me standing alone.
I suppose she's right.

"Lily, Mar" I here Alice's voice chime, I place Natalie down and run as fast as I can in heals down the stairs. She's got her hair in it's natural curls and is wearing a stunning purple dress that's tight like mine but down to just bellow her knees with black heals.
"Ooooo show me show me show me" I practically squeal as I reach for her hand. She and Frank both laugh as she extends her left hand towards me and Frank kisses her forehead. "I'll leave you to it" he says walking away and passing Mar in the process.
"Lets see" she grins pulling Alice towards her
It's a simple yet elegant ring and fits Alice perfectly. "Aw so how did he do it" I ask releasing her hand and leading her into the front room with Marlene in tow.
I left to early to know anyway but Mar said Alice called and said that she would just see us both at the party because Frank was taking her out for breakfast instead of her earlier plan of going back to Mar's to tell us all about how he proposed.

Flash back to the night before
Alice's pov
Me and Frank just arrived at my favorite restaurant and honestly I couldn't be more confused. Mar and Lily were acting really strange all day and Frank just turning up has left me completely baffled.
A couple weeks ago I would have guessed he was going to propose but it's been so long since James brought up the subject and I'm beginning to think that maybe it's not going to happen, not any time soon anyway.

After a lovely dinner he suggests we take a walk around the park that's near by, we used to come here a lot in the summer but this time we've only been once. I wrap my arms around myself and shiver due to the almost numbing icy wind, but I don't even care being here with Frank is so nice and the weather is not going to taint my enjoyment.
We're in a comfortable silence as we walk around the Now frozen pond for the second time and make our was around for the 3rd.
Frank takes of his jacket and places it around my shoulders, I smile up at him and look to the ground shyly. "Thanks" I whisper.
"No problem" he smiles wrapping his arm around me and pulling me into his chest.
Iv always been shy but I'm not normally with Frank, we're so comfortable around each other I don't often feel shy at all but there's something about tonight that's suddenly making me feel like this is our first date or something. Like his is some mystery guy I barely know who I'm completely in love with, that he could leave and brake my heart at any moment. Rather than my loving doting boyfriend who I know wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. Why and I suddenly so nervous?

"Alice" Frank says snapping me out of my trance and my attention back to him.
I realize we've stopped in my favorite spot near the large oak tree on the edge of the pond and I can't help but smile at him and all the memories we've had here. This was were we had our first kiss, frank asked me to be his girlfriend and to go away with I'm over the summer in 6th year.
"Yes" I reply.
"I just want to tell you...I love you so much" I smile up at him and I can feel tears threatening to falL, it's something Iv heard many times before but it never ceases to amaze me how much I love him.
"And i know we stay it a lot but I really mean it. I love you Alice Prewit and I don't want to waste a single moment with you. So....
Will you marry me?"
I can hardly breath I'm so happy, I really didn't think this would be happening tonight.
"Yes, yes of cause I will" I throw my arms around him and allow him to Place the ring on my finger. I can't wait to tell everyone I'm going to be Mrs Frank Longbottom. I'm marrying the man I love and I couldn't be happier.

A/N
What do you think about my writing In Alice's point of view? That's the first time Iv done it in anyone other than Lily and James's in this story but I really wanted to have that part in there. Hope you liked it and tell me what you think ;)
