The story of James and Lily

Unexpected threat

lily's pov (im having a change around with the chapters/ putting some of them together. so the beginning of this one is the same as my last update but there is more so please continue reading past the part most of you will have already read)

Marlene and I were given a task of talking to some other wizards while the boys get in touch with the more mythical creatures of our world, it being something myself and James have done many times Dumbledore said maybe my persuasive talents could be she'd else wear. Trying to talk to anyone now is difficult because we don't want to drag anyone into this but we need fighters and as far as we're concerned right now, we are vastly outnumbered. We have already tried and failed with two wizarding families and now we are going to talk to Marlene's family, her younger brother Michael is desperate to join but with him only being 15 his parents have said absolutely no, of course getting children to fight with us isn't exactly our plan either. "So you and Mark have been on a few dates," I say breaking the silence as I rub my hands together trying to gain even a little heat. "Yeah about 5"
"Well it must be going well" she shrugs with a sigh scrunching up her face "I guess, it's nothing that serious though" "obviously" I tease nudging her jokingly. Even though we are all busy there are a few occasions where the single members of our group to get to go our, Sirius and Mar have a rare date or seek out the bars but normally the later and aside from those I don't know if anyone else has even been thinking about anything around that subject, neither Peter nor Remus shows any interest. "Have you spoken to Sirius lately?" she asks changing the subject not so subtly. "Well I do live with the man" I laugh lightly. "You know what I meant" she wines pushing me softly. "If you're asking how he is, then fine, I know you two haven't seen each other in a few days but he's okay" she nods and smiles to the ground "Well I'm glad".

We arrived at her house not an hour later and I was soon standing in the McKinnon's kitchen while Mar and her mother were talking not so quietly upstairs. "Hey, Lily" I turn to see a boy, towering over me now with a shaggy mop of blond hair and the tanned skin and blue eyes to match his sister. "Hi, Mikey" I smile nodding to him. "No one calls me Mikey anymore" he laughs, cheeks slightly flushing with a tinge of red. "I've known you since you were 7 years old, your still Mikey to me" I grin proudly. "Alright, then whatever you say" he chuckles shaking his head slowly and wondering over to the pot of coffee on the table. "Refill?" "Please" I hold my cup out in front of me and wait until he places the pot back down to sit, holding the cup tight to my chest while the steam rises up around my face. "Well I have a paper to write but it was nice seeing you lil" he says walking over to the door "you too" I call just as he stops in the archway, pausing and turning around to look at me "you and Potter still together?" He asks raising his eyebrows "happily married" I beam holding up my left hand to display the two rings on my finger. "Damn" he grumbles just as Mar comes swooping into the kitchen "Agh stop hitting on my friends and get out" she groans pushing on the back of his head until he leaves.

"So everything okay" I whisper motioning with my head to the stairs. Mar winces and takes a seat opposite me "she said I shouldn't be joining the order, that it's too dangerous and I'm being reckless" "I can see where she's coming from I mean she's a muggle, she's not from our world, it's understandable" I shrug causing her to glare at me jokingly "sure take her side"
"What can I say, I'm a boring old woman so shoot me" i laugh raising my hands up to surrender, she sniggers and rolls her eyes picking up and apple from the fruit bowl in front of her and taking a large bite.

We returned to the order meeting late and i came home even later, arriving at an empty, dark house and went to bed alone, having a restless and uncomfortable night until i feel a warm body slip into bed next to me. 

I force my eyes open as i feel someone shaking me awake "Lil, lil they need us now" he says as i shoot up rubbing my eyes and yawning once "Okay, okay I'm awake" i say running a hand through my hair and standing up. We both quickly dress and James rushes out the door ahead of me nearly crashing into Sirius as he skids out of his room into the corridor. I grab my coat and reach out towards them as James grabs my hand pulling me over "What's going on?" i ask confused as i shrug on my coat. "Remus is in trouble".
