Chapter 15

Kathy POV

"Whatever. It doesn't concern me. I'm done talking." Jane said as she headed for the stairs. I quickly grabbed her shoulder but she only shrugged me off. "Jan-" I started but was cut off by Ashton. "Leave her be Kathy. She doesn't know what she's doing."

I look back to Jane retiring back up the stairs with that boy that came down with her. I sighed and turned to the Alpha and Luna. "I'm sorry for my rude behavior, but I need Jane to come back home. Her family is very worried and soon will be looking around the neighboring towns, including this one." I explained. They looked to each other and back to me.

They motioned us to their living room and we all sat down on the soft leather couches. We sat there for a few minutes before they began to talk. "We understand that Jane needs to go back with you but it seems that there is some conflicts between you three. One of our members of our pack, found her or rather she found him. He said that she was in bad condition and brought her here. When she woke up we gave her some blood that we had and she refused it at first but Finny got her to drink it. Finny is the boy that brought her here and that went up the stairs with her just now."

After he was done talking I noticed that Ashton was thinking hard. He then spoke up, "Did she do anything strange or that might be of some use to helping her?" His question made me wonder. What did she do and what does it have to do with her situation?

The Alpha sighed and started again. "Yes. she has done some things and we don't know why. She then became cold to us and to Finny who was closest to her here." Ashton cuts in, his voice sounding grim. "What did she do?" The Alpha sighed and looked down then to his wife and back to us. "She was cutting herself." My heart froze. She what? My brave, strong, confident Jane, cutting herself? What would drive her to do something like that? "We were in here when it happened. We left her alone to rest in the room we prepared for her, but we soon got the whiffed of the smell of blood. We raced up the stairs to her room and she was just standing in the bathroom with this cold and blank stare. she was looking in the mirror but wouldn't look at us. She kept saying that she was fine and that nothing happened but we knew better. We left Finny to watch her while me and my wife came down here to try and figure out what happened and how to help. Then you showed up."

By the time he was done I was baffled. What happened to her? Before I knew it I was sobbing. My best friend is in pain and I can't do anything to help her. She was there for me for so many years. She put up with my shit all those years and for what? To turn into a monster? To be feared by her family and having to harm someone to live? Well, that's not living, that's surviving. She is stuck in time and can never move forward. Everyone that she cares about with soon die and leave her here alone.

Ashton rubbed my back as I soon started to calm down. I slowly lifted my head and looked to the Alpha. "May we stay here to look out for her? we just ant to help her." I begged. He looked to his wife. She nodded to him and turned to us. She was quite this whole time. "Of course you can stay, but we warn you. There will be some of our pack that won't approve of an outsider and two vampires staying here. Just be careful. We will try to keep the pack under control, but please feel free to stay here as long as you need." We both thanked them and they called someone into the room to bring us to our rooms.

The boy or should I say man walked into the room. And let me tell you this man is 'hot.' No joke. He was tall and had alot of musle. His hair was a dirty blone with a slight wavy to it. His light blue eyes sent chills down my spine. He was wearing a white T-shirt that clung to his body like a second skin. His tight ripped blue jeans show off his obvious package. But what was strange was that he looked oddly familiar to that Finny boy. Maybe they are related. 

He was definetly someting. "Lenny can you please take our guests to their room?" He only nodded and motioned his hand to the direction of the stairs. We both followed him up the stairs and to each of our rooms.

I plopped down on the bed, looking around the room. I realized the Lenny was still standing in the door way. "May I help you?" I asked giving him a questionable look. He stood there for a few seconds before speaking. "You can stay in here until dinner. Dinner will be at 6." Once he was finished he turned and left the room. I looked to the clock seeing that it was only 5. I had an hour before dinner."

I laid my back on the bed and looked to the white ceiling. My eyes started to get heavy so I decieded that I will take a nap before dinner and let my eyes slowly drifted closed.

Ashton POV

Something isn't right. What would cause Jane to start cutting and grow cold to others? Not unless... Wait it can't be! But it can be, it's possible. I understand why she would be like this but most vampires don't get into this stage until years after their transformtion. So what triggered it to start so early in the process? I have to go over this with the Alpha and Luna and also Kathy, but i will have to carefull around her. With the informtion about her best friend doing something so depressing and harmfullto herself will do some damage to anyone. I hope we can help her.

Jane POV

I stand alert on their scents as they moved through the house. When Kathy's scent stopped and became strong when she went into the room across from mine, I looked to Finny. "I'm going to the kitchen." I sais but was stopped by him. "You know that I have to come with you." i huffed and sat back down on the bed. "Where did you want to go?" He questioned. I sighed and looked away from him. "Come on, Jane. I'll go with you to where ever you want to go." He said as he placed his arm around my shoulder.

Turning my head to him I nodded and got up with him following. I opened the door trying to be as quite as can be. Looking down the halls to make sure that no one was coming, I smiled when no one was. I stepped in front of her door and looked at the knob, debating if I should. With a shaky hand i reach for the doorknob, slowly turning it. I pushed it open to see a sleeping Kathy.

I sighed and slowly walked in. Feeling Finny following behind me, I quietly growled at him and he stopped at the door frame. Walking to the side of her bed I laid beside her and curled up into her side. Breathing in her scent made me so calm and at peace that I could stay here for the rest of eternity.

"You really care for her, don't you?" Finny whispered. I could already see the smile on his face. "Yes, she means the world to me." I breath. "But that is also the reason to not go back." I said with a frown. He didn't say anything and I'm greatful for that. I foces on Kathy's breathing as I bury my face into her side. "I'm sorry." I whispered softly as i feel a sighly tear run down my face.

I closed my eyes, letting sleep take over me. And all i see in my dreams are of her.
