Kathy POV
I woke up to the darkness. I tried to move my arms to have them feel as heavy as steal. I prided my eyes open to be met by the blinding light above me. I groan and forced myself to sit up. I rubbed at my eyes, trying to get use to the bright light. I looked around once my eyes have adjusted. I was in a white and cream colored room. Light blue curtains hang from the ceiling covering half of the bed that I sit in. The bed is covered in cream colored sheets. I turned my head to see that I was connected to an IV and some machines.
I looked down at my arms to see them banged up, along with my chest and back and some parts of my legs. It hurt to move them as I try to raise them. My whole body aches all over. A slight pinch of pain shoots through my body going straight to my head.
Then the memories of the events to took place prior. I shook in fear. What was that? That wasn't Jane. I carefully lifted my hands and gripped my head. Suddenly a nurse walked into the room and the moment that she saw me, she rushed out of the room. I got lost in my thoughts that a hadn't realized that a doctor had entered the room. He came to my side and began to check up on me.
He lightly tapped my shoulder causing me to flinch back in surprise. He lifted his hands to his chest to show that he didn't intend to harm me. I stopped shaking slightly only enough to listen to him. Once he thought that I was calm down, he began. "Miss, do you remember what happened? When you and your friends were brought here you and them had a lot of injuries. You and the other girl were hardly touched, only cuts and burises. The young man was the only one that looked to be a the doorstep of death. He has some broken bones along with being almost drained dry. Can you tell me what it was that went on in that bathroom?"
I only stared in the empty space of the room. Without looking at him, I began to speak. "Jane. She....we were outside playing. We called her out but when she did....she began to burn. Like she was dipped into a boiling pot of water. Ashton carried her into the bathroom and ran her a cold bath. But, something went wrong." My voice cracked every so often.
He simply nodded before he patted my back and left. I sat there in silence, staring at nothing. I heard the door open and close but I didn't bother to look up. I soon found something warm and big on my back as it pulled me into a strong wall. Blinking back tears, I looked up to see Lenny hold me and Finny sitting in the chair beside my bed.
In that moment I couldn't hold it anymore. I held onto his shirt, burying my face into his neck. I let it all out. All the pain that I caused to Jane. For letting her ran away. Not knowing how to help her out of her depression and now, not know how to keep her safe even from herself. Sobbing hard, Lenny slowly rubbed big circles on my back, trying to calm me. After I have finished crying my eyes out, I slowly pulled away.
I pushed myself off the bed and staggered to the door. I held onto the wall until I regained my balance. Before I could leave the room the boys grabbed my arms keeping me from leaving. "Let me go." I didn't even realized that was my voice. I sound so broken and dead inside. Like I was a robot. I tugged my arms from them but their grip tightened. I forced my voice to come out strong, but all I got was the pain and sadness in my voice.
"Let.....go of.....me." My head lowered. Now staring at the floor, I felt tears prick the back of my eyes, threating to fall. "Kathy, you can't." Lenny spoke. His deep voice somewhat calmed me, but not enough. "I.....ne-need...her." I don't know why but I have this feeling that says that if I'm not there, Jane will surely suffer. I wipe around and stare at them with anger, fear, sadness, and pain. "You don't understand! I NEED her! Let me go to her!" They looked to each other and then back to me. Lenny sighed and released me.
I smiled and leaned up to each of them and kissed each of them before running out and down the hall. I franticly ran, searching every room for her scent. By the time I had found her, I was four stories from the room I was staying in. I pushed open her door and rushed to her side. Jane was hooked up to all this machines that told her state. I was not surprised to not see one of those heart monitors. Well, since her heart stopped the moment she began what she is today.
I placed myself down in the chair next to her bed and intertwined my fingers with her. I brought her hand to her my face and leaned my forehead against it. The threating tears fell the moment she was by my side. I looked up to her and whispered, "Hey, wake up. Jane you need to wake up. I need you here, please." I moved closer and lightly caressed her soft cheek with the back of my hand.
I don't remember how long I sat there, just staring at her, but by the Alpha and Luna walked in, it was already late into the night. Luna sweetly rubbed my back as if to tell me that Jane would be fine. I tore my gaze from Jane and stared at Luna with dead eyes. "Honey, you need to rest and get something to eat. Jane isn't going to wake up any time soon." I violently shook my head telling her no as my tears started again.
This time it was the Alpha to speak. "Kathy, Ashton is wake and we need you to come with us to him to understand what had happened in there." That was a command. I looked down, then at Jane and slowly nodded before standing up leaving the room. As we left I'd take glances over my shoulder at her.
Don't worry Jane I'm going to figure out what's wrong with you and make it better. Just you wait.
