Jane POV
I can't believe she came to me instead of me going to her. I can see that she changed the color of her hair once again. One time she even have it a bright green. Everyone at school was staring at her like she had four heads.
She's so confident and brave. She doesn't care what everyone thinks or says about her in anyway. But as I look at her, I can see how nervous and scared she was and still is to see me. I only smile at her as I take in her intoxicating scent. Her dark blue eyes shown with realization and sadness.
"Jane, I-I'm so sorry. I just couldn't bring myself to believe that my b-best friend is my m-mate." She voiced, her voice cracking every so often. She lowered her head and stared at her lap as tears began to spill down her cheeks. I kneel down in front of her and gently cup her face and lift her head to meet her eyes.
"Kathy, even before all this stupid shit happened. I was in love with you. And even now nothing changes." I smile at her as I swipe my thumb under her eye, wiping away her tears. "I just hope that you don't reject me." I said with a small chuckle as she lightly smacked my my arm.
"I won't reject you. I just hope that we can work together with this relationship." She smiled to which I nodded. Once Kathy had calmed down, we sat on the couch together and talked. We talked about how stupid we were and what we did the past 3 years. Until Christian walked into the living room.
I smiled and stood up from my place beside Kathy and moved towards him. "Christian! Look who's here!" I exclaimed. "Kathy, can you believe that the little boy that I haven't seen in the past 3 years grew up from a boy to a man." I laughed. Kathy smiled and looked at Christian. Christian just stood there, unmoving.
My smile faded. "Hey Christian, are you alright?" I asked with concern. His eyes snapped to mine and a smirk made its way onto his face. And from just looking at him, I knew I wasn't going to like it.
Suddenly I felt a piercing pain in my side. Like my insides were being pulled and pushed out of my body. A loud scream filled my ears, I knew it was Kathy's. With tears in my eyes I slowly looked from Christian's eyes and moved them down where the pain erupted.
A wooden steak was deeply wedged in my side and the hand that held the wood was attached to my brother. Looking back up at him, his eyes stared back at me with hatred and evilness. As I gasped from a enormous amount of pain that surged through my body, Christian's brown eyes morphed into bright yellow ones. He let go of the steak only for it to remain in my side.
His skin started to change and deformed only to reform into that of my mother then my father until it changed into the man that caused me to be what I am. But his skin didn't settle down into its new form, making me to believe that this...this creature was changing into the people I knew from my life.
"Let's see how it feels to watch the people you love slowly die shall we?" It said with a sinister laugh. Then it was gone. I turned to look around for it but the pain was becoming unbearable. In a second flat, she was there at my side with new found tears running down her face. "Shh, I'm ok." She only shook her head and held me close. "You are not alright, Jane!"
I gave her a sharp glare. "Kathy, I'm seriously, ok. I want you to go and make sure that everyone is alright and not hurt. Can you do that for me?" My voice was firm as I try to find how much pain I really am in. Kathy shook her head again, not wanting to leave me. I tried again and this time she obeyed me. She gently set me down and hurried off into the rest of the house. Please be ok.
Kathy POV
It hurt to leave Jane there on the floor bleeding, but I have to find the rest of her family and make sure that they are safe. I move into the kitchen and immediately I see Jane's mother passed out on the floor. I rush to her and check her pulse.
I breathed a sigh of relief. She's alive but it looks like she was hit in the head and hard. I picked her up and quickly went and laid her on the kitchen table. I then made my way up the stairs, checking every room.
Her father is in his study asleep on the couch and Ian's in his room, playing video games. But something was wrong. I could just feel it. As I got closer and closer to Christian's room, the smell of blood grew stronger. My stomach did a nasty flip. I pushed open the door and what I saw made my eyes water.
Finny had tears streaming down his face as he try's to stop Christian's bleeding by putting pressure on the wounded. Finny looked up at me and slow shook his head. "Please, please. Don't hurt us anymore, please." He pleaded. He was covered in bruises and cuts. But Christian was barely touched except the baseball size hole in his stomach.
"No, no. It's me, Finny, it's me." I confirmed as I walked closer to him. With a hesitate nod of his head, he continued to put pressure on the wound. I quickly pulled my phone out of my jacket and called my dad. He used to be the pack doctor in our pack before him and mom wanted the normal life.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Daddy! I need you to come to Jane's house, now! A shifter showed up and now there's a big wound in Christian's stomach. He's bleeding really bad!" I rush through as my tears spill down my cheeks. He has to be ok. Please be alright.
"I'll be there in a minute, baby. For now make sure that you put pressure on the wound and that he doesn't have a fever and if he does, try to lower it and fast." He spoke with calmness as I heard him gathering things in the background. We soon hung up and hurried to lower Christian's fever.
Not long after my father arrived and made a quick attempt to stop the bleeding. He pushed me and Finny out of the room where Christian lay unconscious on his bed, slowly bleeding out. Finny walked to the guest room to clean up while I made my way back to Jane's side.
She now laid on the couch and the steak on the floor. I noticed that her wound wasn't healing. I locked eyes with her as she began to sit up. "Jane, why aren't you healing? Was the steak laced with something? Are you alright?" I asked with so much concern.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. More importantly, is everyone alright?" She got out. I slowly shook my head, no. "Christian hurt really badly. I called my dad, he's a doctor." I with sadness. Her face dropped significantly. Then Finny walked into the room. "He'll be fine guys, you'll see." His voice was soft and the small smile on his face didn't cover the look of worry.
He let's out a heavy sigh and looked to Jane. "You need to drink blood to help the healing process. You know that you've been practically starving yourself for the past couple days." The worry never leaving his voice. I snapped my head to her and see guilt written all over her face. I looked down on the floor for a moment.
She needs blood. She can't heal if she doesn't drink any blood. I looked up and held out my wrist to her. Jane quickly shook her head only for me to give her a stern look. She moved closer and gripped my arm. Sinking her fangs into my wrist, I could feel my blood stop and move backwards in veins. There was no pain only pleasure. It felt so good. She quickly pulled away, not wanting to drink to much.
She breathed in a breath of relief as her wound began to close. Now all that's left is to worry about Christian and how did that shift get into the house undetected and why did it want to hurt my mate?
