'Picture of Ashton above^'
Kathy POV
I was lead down a hallway. Some of the ceiling lights flickered on and off. Patients walking about the halls, greeting us as we pass. We came up to an door and my breath hitched and the sight I see in the window on the door. Ashton sat in a white bedand looking of the window. His eyes were hard and unreadable. His pale skin looked more sickly pale than before. He looked weak and breakable.
I pushed open the door causing him to snap his head in my direction. I smiled softly but I know it was filled with sadness and hurt. He looked down as I approched him. I sat on the edge of his bed and waited for when he was ready to speak. A heavy sigh left his lips as his gaze turned to me. "It wasn't Jane's fault." I looked at him in confusion before a voice sounded behind me. "What do you mean?" That was Alpha Trevor.
"It seems that when we invited her outside she wasn't wearing the earring that I gave her." Ashton's head hung low as he spoke. "The earring was to protect her from the sun. So when she entered the sunlight, her body began to heat up and burn. To help vampires that are injuried from the sun is to run a cold bath and have them soak in it. But, when they are in the water they being to feel the intense pain from the burns they got as they slowly heal. And sometines the pain can be to much for them." I look at him waiting for him to continue.
"Since Jane is a newly turned vampire she isn't use to the pain, causing her vampire instints to take over. To feed to regain the energy and power they have lost. In shorter terms, some call it that she went blood raged." My mouth hung open as I stared at him. I looked back at Trevor to see a stern look on his face. I jump from my spot on the bed to make my way over to him.
"Alpha?" I whispered making him pull himself out of his thoughts. I looked back over to Ashton and found him looking out the window once again. "How long will it last?" The words left my mouth making my voice quiver with worry. He turned back to me with a small smile of his face. "Once she wakes up she'll be fine, but she will remember everything. She will blame herself, but it wasn't her fault." That brought a smile to my face. Not because she will remember but that she is back to normal again.
"Why did she go after you instead of Kathy? You're a vampire like her, so why go away her kind?" Trevor's was serious tone. Ashton was hesitant to answer. I watch his eyes move from the Alpha to me. "Ashton?" I whispered with hope that he won't lie to me. I have known Ashton most of my life. He's a friend of my family because he saved my life. My parents and I will always be indebt to him.
I was just a child when I first met him. It was the first day in my new home. The place were I live now. We just moved here, because my family was thrown out of our old pack on some ridiculous charges against us for treason. Instead of killing us the Alpha kicked us out. Probably because he was too lazy to do it. He was a pitiful alpha. he didn't care about his pack only himself. Not even his own children. He was also the biggest man whore ever. He has twelve children to ten different women.
Not because they are throwing themselves at, but because he is raping them. He's a disguising man. Well, back to Ashton. While mommy and daddy unpacking the cars, I wondered off into the woods behind our house. By the time I was done roaming, I became lost. I was so scared as I sat in the dirt on the woods floor. It was hours later when I hear a blood curdling growls. I quickly hide behind a tree as I saw a dark figure approach me.
I was shaking in my shoes as it got closer and closer. By the time it was in front of me, I could clearly see it's face as the moon light shown upon his face. His pitch black hair fell in his glowing white eyes, that were filled with angry, hunger, and amusement. His lips curved up into a sickening smile, showing all his pointy sharp teeth. Tears were rolling down my face as I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the pain and darkness to consume me.
But it never came. I slowly opened my eyes to see the man on the ground, covered in his own blood. As I stared at he lifeless corpse, it soon turned into a pile of ash. Hearing movement in front of me caused me to snap me gaze up. My locked with the same glowing white eyes, but these were different. They were kinder and soft. Full of pride and power. My eyes scanned the man's face as he stood still. His brown hair is disarray on his head. His bangs fell into his eyes.
I watched as the glowing white slowly faded to a bright hazel. They were beautiful. The man fell to one knee as his eyes never released mine. He reached out his hand to me. I looked to it and back to his face. For some reason I feel like I can trust him. placing my tiny hands into his, he pulled me into his strong chest. I laid my head on his chest as he slowly rubbed my back. Then, he spoke. Oh god his voice was like honey mixed with warm tea.
"What's your name, Sweetie?" I felt myself blush from his words. I opened my mouth only to make a quiet sob. He continued to rub my back until I calmed down. Opening my mouth once again, I shakily whispered an audible 'Kathy'. I felt his chest shake at the sound of my voice, causing me to look up at him. "That's a lovely name. My name is Ashton and I'm going to take care of you, so don't worry." A small smile fell upon my face as my tears completely stopped.
The man named Ashton, stood up and began to walk through the trees. I watched as his ears would twitch every so often, until my house came into view. I saw my parents run out of the house and running to me. Ashton gently placed me on the ground and watch as I ran to my parents. Mommy was in tears as Daddy had a look of relief covering his features. My father's relief became defensive as he saw Ashton stand close by.
Daddy growled viciously at him, but Ashton didn't even flinch. "Why are you on our territory?!" My father yelled. I quickly jumped from my mother's arm and ran in front of Ashton, holding my arms out to protect him. "No Daddy! He didn't hurt me, he saved me and brought me home!" Tears pricked my eyes as I begged my parents to back down with my pleading eyes. Mommy's eyes softened at me and looked to Daddy.
"Is that true? Why would a vampire save of werewolf child?" My father said in disbelief. Ashton only chuckled at him before speaking. "I'm not one for killing children doesn't matter what or who they are." Was all Ashton said to gain the trust of my parents. Every since then, him and my family were hardly far from each other.
"Ashton?" My voice shook as I stared at him. He huffed and weakly spoke. "If a vampire goes into a blood rage they will attack anyone except......" His voice trailed off as he lowered his head.
".........Their mate."
