We stared at eachother for a while until Ariau finally changed into a solid black wolf with blue eyes. He was a werewolf . The other kids stared at me to see what i would do. Not yet. Not until he attacks, it will catch him off guard. I stayed put as he inched closer, a nasty smirk on his wolf face. I dared him to come closer.
He suddenly charged me. Right before he was able to attack me, I turned into a light silver wolf with green eyes. I wanted to keep a low profile, letting people other then Antariel know of my powers might be bad.Ariau jumped at me, his teeth bared and a snarl escaping his jaws. I dove under him and kicked his stomach with my back feet, launching the black wolf high in the air. I could hear a yelp from him and i smiled in satisfaction. Ariau landed clumsily but soon recovered, a once terrified expression on his face turned into a snarl.
I made the first move now. I bushed the fur along my back and began to run in a circle around Ariau, making his head spin. Then at a totally random moment, i dove forward, my paws ramming into his side. I quickly pinned the black wolf to the gym floor and won. Kids cheered for my easy victory as i turned back into a human and joined the group.
A shrill bell rang from a speaker on the roof and the coach waved his hand in dismissal, "leave, go to lunch!" He shouted. The kids flooded out of the door, Antariel and I at the back. "Why didn't you turn into something more.... epic? Like a tiger or something?" She whispered in my ear. I looked towards her and lowered my voice just above a whisper. "Trying to keep a low profile. I don't want to be the center of attention, you know?" I said. Antariel nodded her head. We finally were able to escape the gym and find the light of day outside. Antariel and I walked to the small cafeteria next to the gym which was maybe about five minutes away. Lunch was the last period of the day after battle practice. School started at 8:50 a.m. for 8th graders and ended at 10:00 a.m. pretty awesome. "Wanna be in a wolf form with me and run there?" Antariel asked.
I looked around and saw many kids in their wolf form racing vampires and nature, air, and fire users arguing about whose power was better. "Sure." I said. I pictured the same silver wolf in my head and began to shrink to the floor. I might have been slightly bigger then i was supposed to.
We both took off down the side walk, barking happily and we eventually began an 8th grade race. Other werewolves and vampires raced alongside us but if course, the vampires won. Antariel and i skidded to a halt at the cafeteria door and i shifted back into a human to open the door. She became a human and followed me into the crowed room.
Antariel and I sat under a tree, watching everybody test their powers and interact with their beast bond. Sadly, nobody got a dragon or a unicorn but there were a couple of the less popular kids who were in a group, playing with mini griffins.
Antariel fed her little wolf, who she named Dusty, small scraps of chicken from her lunch. Suddenly, Dusty stopped and collapsed on the ground and so did everyone else's beast bond. They began to grow into all different sizes, their fur stretching and bones growing.
Antariel's wolf grew until he was just below her neck, about four feet tall. One of the two griffin bonds, a golden one with long feathers, grew six feet tall. The other, a grey griffin, grew only to be four feet tall."Oh wow! Antariel, he's big enough for you to ride, just like you wanted!" I congratulated. Antariel hugged Dusty and the tan wolf licked her face. A teacher appeared quickly on the large outside stage. I guessed that he was a vampire.
"8th graders! How was your first battle practice? Oh yes, and, did you get the bonds and powers you wished for?" Mr. Stlaker asked. He was met by a roar of cheering and clapping from around the outside center area. "It is now 10:00 am and you are welcome to return home." He announced before walking off the stage. About half of the 8th graders flooded out of the gates, including Antariel and I. We were wolves.
I hadn't paid attention to my wolf's details and i didn't notice that my wolf was dark greyish-brown. Someone tapped my shoulder and i looked behind me to see Ariau behind me. He wore a confused look. He turned into his black wolf so he could communicate with Antariel and I. "Skolris, I thought that your wolf was silver." He growled. I shrugged and turned my head away. I sped off down the sidewalk with Antariel by my side.
"You are the only person who will know my secret. I will not tell Ariau AKA 'i can punch who doesn't move out of my way and i can have as many girlfriends as I want' my ability." Antariel nodded and they continued down the leaf strewn path. Palm trees lined the sidewalks and I could here the calm swish of the ocean waves.
The school was located near White Griffin Beach and her house was only a few blocks away from the school. Antariel was her neighbor. "I hope he doesn't follow us..." Antariel said randomly. I folded my grey-red ears back,"now, why would he do that?" I asked.
--------------------3rd person😉------------------
Antariel stared her and stopped. "You know, cuz he knows that you were a different wolf when you fought him." She pointed out. Skolris flicked her ear dismissively and continued walking. "Im sure he wouldn't be that dumb." She said.
Antariel followed her. Skolris noticed a small wolf tattoo on Antariel's paw pad. " you put Dusty in dormant state?" Antariel nodded. They walked past a werewolf in wolf form. The honey brown wolf past them quickly, plastic bags in it's mouth.
Soon, Skolris's house appeared in the distance, Antariel's next to her's. When they both arrived, they waved goodbye, shifted into a human, and entered their houses.
