Chapter 4 Testing

     When i entered in my house, i was greeted by my mother's lemur, Juja. His tail wrapped around her neck and he made little chattering noises. "Hey, Sweetie! How'd it go?" Skolris gave her a thumbs up. "What was your bond?" Her mother questioned, examining her and around her. "Well, Mom, I didn't exactly get a beast bond." She said awkwardly.

    "You didn't get a bond?" Her mother wore a worried expression. Skolris shook her head. "Then.." her mother's face lit up " then you must have gotten a good power, like telekinesis?" Her mother said hopefully while holding a hand out. A plant rose just above her finger tips.

     How do i say this? "Well, I didn't get  any of the seven powers-" she started. "WHAT? YOU DIDN'T GET A POWER?" her mother shouted, worried. GREAT WAY TO START SKOLRIS. YOU DESERVE A PAT ON THE BACK. "Mom, wait. I did get a power though." She reassured. Now her mother wore a very confused face."uhhh, what did you get then?" She asked.

     "Well, the scroll said that i was a shifter." She announced. Her mother looked at her like she was crazy." Skolris, did you hit your head or something?" She asked. "There is no such thing as a shifter." She said.

     Skolris nodded her head,"there is now, cuz i am one." She said. "If your a Shifter, whatever that means, show me." Her mother said. Skolris poked her chin with her finger, thinking. "Mom, give me an animal." Her mother looked at her doubfully,"ummm, how about a husky dog." She suggested.

     Skolris thought of a husky and then, she began to change and shrink. Soon, she was looking up at her stunned mother. "Are you sure that's just not your wolf form? Turn into a parrot and fly around this room. Ooh, a blue, green, and purple parrot." She said. Skolris pictured a blue, green, and purple parrot and shrank even smaller.

     She spread her rainbow wings and flew across the room and perched on the back of a chair. Her mom covered her mouth in amazement. Skolris opened her wings wide again and rose into the air. She turned into a person again and landed squarely on the wooden floor.

     "Well then, i guess that explains why you didn't get a bond." Her mom chuckled. Skolris just smiled. "Wow, that's so cool honey! How about some lunch?" She nodded her head and followed her mom to the front door. Her mom opened the door for her and they walked towards town. Juja was in a small lemur symbol on her mom's arm so he wouldn't run wild.

     "I can turn into a giant wolf and you can ride me into town if you want..." Skolris suggested helpfully. Her mother shrugged,"sure but that's kinda weird." She said. Skolris shrugged and checked to see if anyone was around. Nobody was anywhere in sight so she pictured a black and white husky looking wolf with violet eyes. She added the power of speed.

     She crouched down and her mom climbed onto her shoulders like a horse. Then, she ran at full speed towards the city, which was about 30 minutes away if you walked. In this case, it was a minute. They stopped at the edge of the city, which was named Jhakba. Her mother stepped off and looked at her expectantly. Skolris shook her head to indicate that she would stay like this.

     She thought of the power to be able to talk inside of her mother's head but not to read her mind. Hey, mom? Just pretend that I am your beast bond, ok? Only you and Antariel know about my powers. To other people, I'm a werewolf. Her mom looked a little startled but then just nodded her head.

     She followed her mom into a restaurant straight across from them. It was called Le Vou restre meaning "the small restraunt" in the old language. Skolris pretended to be her mother's bond, following closely behind her and eyeing the people in the room suspiciously.

     "Right this way, ma'am." Said a man in a black tuxedo. They followed him to a small table. Skolris curled up in a ball under the table. A few minutes later, a waiter took her mother's order. She ordered a large so that she could share with Skolris.

     After lunch, it was 1:30 pm. Skolris continued to run home with her mom. When they got to her house, Skolris could see Antariel look in her direction. She didn't seem to notice her.

     She asked her mom if she could go over to Antariel's house. "Sure!" She just responded simply. Skolris opened her front door and walked across the yard towards Antariel's house. She waved once again at her.

     "Hey, Antariel!" Skolris greeted. Antariel smiled,"hi!" She gestured towards the beach. "I was thinking that maybe i could test my underwater shifting skills, wanna come?" Antariel smiled wider,"alright, ill come, definitely!" They both turned into a wolf and ran towards the wall that separated the beach and their neighborhood.

     They leapt easily over the stone wall and pasted many people lying on the warm sand. Both Skolris and antariel ran into the water and jumped through the waves that wanted to splash over them.

     Skolris checked to see if anyone was around before ducking underwater. She pictured in her head a small octopus with colorful skin. She felt herself shrink smaller then ever before until Antariel's paw looked like a mountain. Skolris moved quickly onto Antariel's paw and climbed up her soft leg. She could her Antariel make a wolfy scream before remembering it was her.

     She jumped back into the water and turned into a small otter. Sge swam around and in between Antariel's paws . Her slick body glided smoothly in the water. Skolris kicked the ocean water with her back feet, suddenly splashing Antariel's muzzle. She laughed and slapped the blue water with her paw, completely covering Skolris with the salty water.

     Many people began to flood onto the beach and both of them decided it was time to head home.
