Skolris blinked open her eyes the next day. Nymos was watching tv and Antariel was still in bed. He was staring at the news mindlessly as the forecaster yammered on about clouds and such. She stepped out of the covers and stepped quietly over the cold stone floor. She wanted to do something important today.

"Nymos, im going back to our region. I want to tell my mother that im ok. I don't want to leave her alone, worrying that i may be gone forever."Skolris whispered. "Why are you up so early anyway?"

Nymos looked over his shoulder,"i always get up this early. I like the dark. I will wait for your return and if anyone asks, i can tell them your hunting if you want."he whispered back. Skolris nodded and shifted carefully into something small. Something that would allow her to slip past the doorway without being noticed.

She shrank until she was a tiny spider about the size of a penny. Skolris then jumped out the door and scurried onto the stone cave walls. Everything looked as if it were quadrupled in size and she noticed beautiful textured patterns in the rocks.

Skolris was out of the tunnels in no time. She just had to make it through the forest and fly across an ocean, not to hard...(☞゚ヮ゚)☞

She sprang from tree to tree in her tiny spider form until she reached the beach. What should i be? Skolris then shifted into a large, dark blue dragon with smooth scales and a fin along her back with webbed toes. She was going to swim across the ocean. It would be fun.

Skolris waded into the freezing water but she soon got used to it. She dunked her head underwater and paddled her talons along the black water in the direction of her region, her home.

As she swam, schools if fish swam speedily away and dolphins clicked and splashed by. But, the longer she swam, Skolris could feel loneliness tug her heart while at the same time, filled with the fire of fear and love for her dear mother.

I could just teleport back but who knows whom might be watching. Seeing a random dragon appear at a house would be strange.

She swam for about two hours with the extra boost of speed but the oceans between regions were colossal! They stretched for thousands if miles but then again, it was a pretty big planet.

Skolris decided it was time to fly after her arms and legs grew tired and weak from swimming. She lunched herself upwards and burst through the surface. Blinding light pierced her eyes as she adjusted. It was early afternoon by now. I didn't know that i had been swimming that long!

A wave of fatigue washed over her when Skolris realized that she was just barely halfway there. She then pushed on, warmed by the fact that she could reassure her mom, to make sure she knew that everyone was safe.

Skolris flew for hours upon hours, half of which she was drifting on the breeze. She vision was blurred and she felt as if she could fall out of the sky at any moment and drown in the ocean.

More time flew past, along with a gradually darkening grey sky and rain. Is that land? A green blur could just be seen from where she was and Skolris sped up her flight, pumping her wings quicker then before.

Her muscles stung and ached  but the green smudge of land became larger until Skolris noticed it as her home. She soared slowly over the small foresty island until she spotted the island central town and followed the winding path that led towards the beach houses.

Her mother never mentioned a debate that she would have  to attend in the middle of the day but who knows. She's a pretty good lawyer and Skolris couldn't remember the time when she had lost. That was kinda why they were rich.

In the air, Skolris shifted into a grey and white fluffy cat with wings and glided into and landed in her backyard. Seeing a cat would be better then seeing a random huge dragon.

She looked through the window and spotted her mother walking in circles while yelling, red faced and tears streaming down her cheeks, at somebody on the phone. Skolris could probably guess who it was.

Whenever she talked to Skolris's father, she yelled but never cried. This probably meant that she was talking to her father about Skolris missing. She felt even more guilty.

Skolris scratched her claws on the wood and her mom looked over to the back door. Her eyes flashed with confusion for a moment before a small glow of hope began to shine in their green depths.

Skolris allowed herself to talk in her mother's head; mom, it's me, Skolris.
She thought. Her mother dropped the phone and more tears brimmed her eyes. She ran over to the door, opened it, and scooped Skolris up in a tight hug.

"I thought I would never see you again, but here you are, and I can relax now, knowing that my little girl is safe." Her mother cried into Skolris's furry coat. Her skin felt frozen once she remembered that she had to tell her mother that she couldn't stay.

Skolris's mother set her down and she turned back into a human. "Mom, i know you're glad to see me but there was a reason i came back, but it wasn't to stay."Skolris said sadly.

Her mom's shoulders sagged and she moved a strand of dark brown hair from her face. "What do you mean that you're not going to stay?" She asked.

"Well, first of all, Antariel and my new friend Nymos-" Skolris's mother interrupted. "Oooh, a boy friend or a boyfriend? My girl is all grown up." She joked. Skolris ignored her mother,"my friends are back at the island we were being sheltered on after we escaped from the bomber's boat. I kinda sank it. I want to leave to try and track down another ship and find the base. Then i can destroy the base and stop the attacks."Skolris explained quickly.

Her mother frowned and looked towards the front door. "I don't want you to leave but i know that you can possibly save our region from the attacks. There were none while you were gone, probably because the ship you sank never returned and they were waiting for it. You may go, but only if you promise to keep everyone safe and control your powers." She said.

Skolris didn't tell her that she had already lost control and that she had attempted to attack Antariel, she just nodded. "But, please stay the night." Her mom said pleadingly. Skolris sighed and thought of how her friends would feel back at the island when she didn't return. "Ok, i will stay the night. But tomorrow, im off."
