Skolris awoke in a comfortable bed. It was still dark outside and everything was silent, too silent. But, she didn't wake up on purpose, something wasn't right.
She opened her window to be met with a cold wind and rustled everything in the room. It made her skin crawl and the air crackled with tension.
A couple of wolves howled from far off and a flock if birds flew from the beach. The cold bit at her fingers as she stuck her head out of her window and looked around. There was nothing but darkness. There was no sound, not even the whoosh of the wind in the trees. Skolris could feel her heart pounding in her chest and hear the blood roaring in her ears.
A random bright flicker of eyes reflected the moon for a split second. She could barely make out a dark, furry figure. It walked silently, scanning the nearby houses. It's eyes were rounded and dark. It was a werewolf.
It's eyes suddenly laid on her home, slowly moving up to look Skolris right in the eyes. They stared at eachother for a couple of seconds before the werewolf took off running down the path. For some reason, Skolris jumped out her window and shifted into a wolf before she hit the ground.
She pumped her legs and chased the werewolf, allowing herself to have night vision. She passed under a nearly burnt out lamp before finally catching up the wolf. She dove from behind and landed squarely on the werewolf's back.
She spoke in it's head. Who are you? What are you doing, skulking around in the middle of the night and run when I see you?! She growled in the werewolf's head. It looked up and she could see someone familiar in it's blue eyes and black fur. "Who are you?" The wolf asked, hostility burning in it's tone. It probably ignored the voice in its head thinking that he was crazy Skolris guessed.
"Why would I tell you, a shifty werewolf, who I am?" Skolris growled. The were wolf snarled back,"ok then." He shoved his back feet into her stomach in a powerful kick, which sent her flying backwards into a stack of trash bags. She shook her head and could just barely see the werewolf's dark blue eyes advancing towards her. Then, it rose it's head up in the air and howled for three seconds. He then stood and looked around. What is he doing? The area seemed to feel a little more full. But this feeling was not surprising when more glowing eyes peeked from the shadows.
Werewolves slunk out from behind houses and bushes. They all had their eyes on Skolris. She was frozen in fear and panic. She could probably shift i to something and beat them all but that was when she was in the zone. But, it was the middle of the night and she was freezing and terrified.
What did I get myself i to? One wolf walked forward. "We have a little curious, hostile werewolfy aye? Maybe a bit too curious and hostile towards our most loyal recruit. What do we say we do with this one? Take 'er back to the boss?" Some of the werewolves smirked and called out."take her back!", "get'er!", and "show her who she can mess with!"
Skolris could only stand rigid in fear, her fur spiked up in clumps. "Aw'right, lets take 'er back to the boss. This one can be useful." The leader growled. He flicked his dark brown tail and two wolves, out of the ten present and slunk forward.
Skolris was suddenly filled with the fire of battle. "Bring it on."she snarled.
When both of them rushed forward, she began to think that it was an unfair battle and she had no chance two against one.Skolris met one of them, who was larger then her, in mid air. The wolf crashed into her when they fell to ground, squishing her against the pavement. She twisted and kicked with her back legs and sent the wolf flying off only to feel the other wolf's teeth in her skin.
She twisted her head around and snapped her jaws shut on the side of it's face. She could feel warm scarlet blood run down the side of it's face. The werewolf yelped and pulled away.
The second one turned towards her and snarled. She could spot pearl white teeth glinting brightly. He ran forward again but Skolris slid under the wolf, tearing at its underbelly at the same time.
She could see the wolf stumble forward and barely make it's way back to the others. Skolris smirked at the leader, whose face was full of rage. "Now, we are certain that we need this one." He growled. "Go."
Five of the werewolves leapt forward. This was when Skolris was frozen, her eyes bulging and her legs shaking. She squeezed her eyes shut and could barely feel what was going on outside of her body. All she could thing of is why she didn't lose control if her animal form. It would be a perfect time to do that.
She felt herself being dragged against the pavement. She didn't open her eyes, even when she stopped and could hear sirens pierce the cold air. When she was flopped on the rough ground, she suddenly felt all of the miles she had traveled with no rest. She could remember all of the uncomfortable night of sleep in a cave. She could feel every fresh rip, tear, and hole in her body.
Skolris wanted to rest. She wanted to finally catch up on all of her restless nights of no sleep. So, she squeezed her eyes shut even more so and was relieved when a wave of black took over her mind.
Skolris could finally say that she felt refreshed. Her burning limbs were no longer burning and her tired head was no longer tired. But she wasn't in Someplace familiar. It smelled good and the room was freezing.
She cracked open her eyelids and looked around. Nobody else was in the room. The walls were white and so were the tiles on the floor. There were multiple gadgets and computers all over the room, well, more like two.
She was in her wolf form and her sensitive ears could pick up sounds from all around the building. Skolris opened her eyes wider and stared at herself. She had bandages wrapped along her neck, back, and legs. On some of them, red had crept through and was spreading along it's whiteness.
The door creaked open and a tall young lady walked in. "Hello, I'm Entrea. How are you feeling?" She asked. "Turn into your human form." Skolris obeyed and turned back into a human. Her wounds didn't grow bigger like they did with the dragon. She turned around and grabbed a clip board from a counter.
"Im just going to ask you some questions really quickly, ok." Skolris nodded. Entrea grabbed a pen and pulled up a chair. "Ok, first things first, what's your name?" She asked.
Skolris hesitated and stared at Entrea, who sat patiently. "My name ...is.." she said quietly. I dont want to tell ANYBODY my true identity. Especially some random person in my hometown. Now everybody will know my human form. "You don't know what your name is?" She asked flatly.
Skolris frowned,"my name... is.. Sk-" she looked out a window in her room."it's a nice day out." Skolris said. Entrea crossed her arms. She sighed.
"Im Skolris Kromel." She said quietly. "You are Skolris? I would think that she would be something other the a wolf. Stop playing." Entrea said. "Sure." Skolris said. Entrea scowled, "ill come back when you are ready to cooperate." She said before sticking her hands in her white doctor's coat and walking out the door.
