The Unexpected (Jack and Finn Harries Fanfic)

Chapter 13

Finn could read my face although I was quiet. Sharing room with Jack was one thing, but sleeping in the same bed as Finn was whole new level. Relax, it's afternoon, we'll work this out by the end of the day and get this sorted. We left our luggage in the room went to the lobby to call Caroline and ask her where everyone else was. She was already down with Jack apparently waiting for the two of us.

"Where were you?" asks Jack looking as worried as Caroline.

"We got to the airport a bit later than you guys, and the plane was oversold so we took the next one. That's it." I said. Finn just nodded

"But are you fine?" asked Caroline

"There's just a problem with the room..." said Finn

"I figured that out, they gave me a room for a single person. Why are they messing up our stuff?" Jack was only talking to Finn now.

We were going to see the Trevi Fountain and then we'll walk to places near it. Caroline told me she and Jack were worried something might had happened to us. I told her exactly what we did and she looked relieved. "And what about you and Jack?" She's like a kid blushing over a comment. "I just like being around him, I know I've got no chance with someone like him anyway." Trevi Fountain is the perfect place to fix that.

That place is wonderful. A fountain full of people (turists) making wishes. Caroline and I were going to do this together. "Close your eyes and don't tell anyone." said Caroline. I don't have a lot of Euros so I'm making this wish worth it. I wish for this to be a memorable trip with lifetime friends."  One, two, three.

Did I get corny? I could've wished for a cute boyfriend, or good college. "Hello!" I rapidly open my eyes and found Finn's face in front of mine. I got scared and leaned back and right before I fell into the water Finn grabbed  my waist and moved me to the other side.

"Gosh Finn! You scared the hell out of me."

"You're welcome." He laughed at my horrified look."I'm just going to make a wish."

"Go on, I'll wait for you." Finn closed his eyes and threw the coin. "What did you wish for?"

"I'm not telling until it comes true."

We followed the group and strolled down the streets near the fountain. We got back to our hotel to have a little lecture with Professoressa Falzoni about what we just saw. Of course both Jack and Finn disappear during that time. When the 'class' (everyone was barely paying attention and speaking about the cute Italian guys we saw) was over we had nothing to do. Caroline, Christy, Eliza and I were planning to go out. I was tired but accepted, how am I not going to enjoy Italy? I went to the room. Finn was not there so I just changed, did my make up better and left.

All the girls of the group and I went to a great karaoke bar where he had a great time. When we got back Mrs. Falzoni was waiting for me.

"Melissa, darling! I hadn't had time to salute you properly." She said as she squished not just my face but myself completely. I was able to answer, "I've missed you too."

"Melissa your friend Rose told me what happened with your reservation..."

"She did?!" I cut her words. How does Rose even know what happened?

"Yes, but don't worry. As you are on a floor by yourself, I managed to change mine to one next to you. Hope this will take the loneliness of having a single room." She said smiling and clueless about the guy I was supposed to share it with.

"Thank you teach... I mean Professoressa."

"You're welcome. And now that you have arrived let's go together to our rooms."

Please Finn don't come. My mind was going through that thought. Go and sleep with Jack or something, please.  We got to the floor and Mrs.Falzoni said, "Don't forget I'm keeping an eye on you honey. I'll take good care of you. No late visits or you'll go home haha!" She laugh but not in a sarcastic way, she's actually assuming it wouldn't be otherwise. I opened the door to my room and Finn was there, he saw me and started "Hey!..." I ran and covered his mouth with my hand.

"Why would you do that?" He said with something between surprise and anger. I explained what had just happened.

"So Rose getting you into troubles, huh?" This time he was kind of mocking me.

"Yes she is and no, it is not funny. Well..." I gave a confused look to the bed.

"I can sleep in the floor if that's better for you." That phrase came out so unnatural from him, but he gets extra credit for trying hard. I couldn't help myself from giggling

"Wouldn't you mind? I mean, we can take turns."

"Can I at least watch TV on the bed?"

"Of course you can! I'm going to get ready for bed anyway..." He laugh quietly but I heard him. I took off my make-up, contacts and outfit. I remembered he had never seen me like that. Not any guy but Jack. I breathe in and walked out.

"Look at you love! You're so cute" He said as if I was a child

"Ha ha, thanks, you look great with glasses too."

"I know I do." He moved and make me space on bed. "I'll move when the show is over."

"Don't worry, I'll read or something for a while." A moment of clear thought came to me: I'm about to go to bed with Finn Harries. How on earth?! Before going nuts I took my book and sat at the opposite end of the bed.

"I don't bite Melissa." He didn't look but grinned.

"Oh so you don't mind if I..." I said this while moving until I was next to him. " ...get a little bit closer then." Don't ask why I did this, I was about to move to what was now "my side of the bed" but his reaction, which was faster than mine, was to move his arm and put it around me. "I don't care at all." He said smiling. Should I have moved? Maybe I should have but after a few pages I fell more into Finn's body which hold me tight until I fell asleep.
