~Part II~

Nadine

James' eyes have been shifting from the road to me

"Eyes on the road" I said, chuckling.

"Okay" he said

About 10 minutes of driving before James finally pulled over. He went down and opened the door for me, but he didn't let me come down.

"Hey, what's with James?" I asked whilst looking down since the elevation of my car is pretty high

He just looked up at me and smiled

"Huy, Panget" I said again. This time, he put his arms around my waist and carried me down

As soon as I got down in the ground, my phone rang. I turned to James

"This has something to do with you, doesn't it?" I ask

"Just go answer it" he says

I look at my phone. It's Elizabeth.

As soon as I picked up my phone, James put a blindfold on me

Nadine: Hel-lo? (I was unsure)

Liza: Happy Birthday, hun!!!

Nadine: Thank you. But what is going on?

Liza: Just let James lead you.

As soon as Liza said that, James took my free hand and started to lead the way...

Nadine: He's doing it already. Now answer my question, Elizabeth. What is going on??

Liza: James has got something going for you, don't be such a brat.

Nadine: Oh. And you won't be here?

Liza: Take off your blindfold, hun.

~end call~

I took off my blindfold and saw James smiling before me and– a-and–

"ELIZABETHHHHHHHH" I ran to Liza and hugged her

Liza let go

"How you doin, hun?" She asks

"What are you doing here? How did you get here??" I kept asking

"Well, I had some help" Liza said and looked at James who smiled. I turned to James and hugged him

"Thank you" I whispered, "You're always welcome" he whispered to my ear

I let go of our hug because Liza might start teasing

I looked around. The Central Park. It was all to ourselves. I walked around even more. In the central gazebo, I saw white and gold streamers. There was a table with silver table cloth and a huge chair. In the table, there was a two-tear black fondant cake with letters as cake topping on the lower tear which spelled "NADDIE" instead of "NADINE". I figured that James was the one who got the cake since he's the only one who's ever called me Naddie. On the top tear, a candle engraved number 23 was on and lit.

I was astonished. Gods, I can't believe they, specifically, he did this for me. He's only known me for days.

I hugged both Liz and James. They really pulled this off

"Thank you guyssss!!! So much!" I said and kissed both of them in their cheeks

James

"Thank you guyssss!!! So much!" She said and kissed both me and Liza in the cheeks.

She kissed me. Well, not what you think it is, but technically it is still a kiss. Gods, I swear I better not be red right now or else!

I just stood there. Frozen. I had to do something or else she might think of something else.

"You're welcome" I said with a smile

The three of us ate slices of the cake along with mac and cheese, lasagna, and hot chicken wings. We chugged all of that down with me drinking soda, Liza drinking water, and Naddie drinking milk tea.

After we ate lunch, Liz spoke for the phase 3 of the plan.

"Okay... Not that we all have eaten our lunch, it's time for the part 3 of our program" Liza said as if she was a hostess of a party. In which, she kind of is.

"May we present to Nadine Alexis Lustre, 11 gifts" Now you might be wondering, "Why eleven?" Well that's simple. 11 is Nadine's favorite number.

Nadine was all smiles and was about to tear up. As soon as Liza said her words, we uncovered a huge black gift box which could reach up till my waist. In there were 11 gifts which were sent from all of Nadine's acquaintances and important people in Nadine's life. My two gifts for Nadine were sitting at the bottom whilst Liza's were right on top.

"Go ahead, Ms. Lustre" Liza said

"Go ahead, Ms. Lustre"

I stood up from my seat and went over to the huge black gift box. It had this white ribbon. I pulled the white ribbon and to my surprise, loads of different gifts were stacked.

First one was a pink box. From the color of the box, I knew who this one was from.

Happiest 23rd birthday, hun! I'm glad that you got James a part of our crew now. James is actually a pretty good guy, ya know... Haha, jk. I know you aren't ready yet but whenever you are, you know you could always come to me. Happy birthday again, hun! I love yah!

I opened the box to see a really really really cute journal. On the side (where you see how thick the pages are) there were two strips of hard cover and in the center of that, there was a grey padlock and the keys were in a form of a dogtag necklace. The cover art of the journal was plain black with drops of white falling out from top.

"Thank you, hon!" I said and embraced Liza

A gift from Direk Joy, Candice, Mom, Dad, Zac, my cousins Diego, Elise, Kathryn, and Yassi (Diegs and El are both siblings whilst Kath and Yass are sisters. Don't worry, you'll know more about them soon!)

And on the very bottom of the box, a matte white magnetic box with a shade of metallic white on sits. I open the box and see a blue card on which reads,

Happy 23rd Birthday! This is your first birthday with me as your on-screen partner/off-screen best friend. And that being the case, it is important for me to make you the happiest you could be... I hope you liked all of the surprises and me dragging Liz here. I hope you wouldn't get tired of me, twinnie (haha, ew) You are the only person who gets me. Thank you for agreeing on being my forever partner in crime. I promise to play my part as your partner and best friend... Thank you, Naddie. Happy birthday. :)

I opened the box and saw the two things I really wanted. A rose gold bracelet with a rose charm and Paper Towns by John Green.

I hugged James. "Thank you" I whisper into his ear "So much".

"You're welcome" he whispers back
