I flipped the string on my cap and made my way to the seats outside. The entire class was seating at the time I was.
A ginger to my right and brunette to my left.
"Hey." The red head said. I looked to my right.
"Hello."
"Autumn right?" She asked and I replied with a nod.
"I've seen you on a magazine cover before." She said and I averted my full attention to her.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"I'm Olivia." She held out her hand.
"You don't have an accent." I pointed out.
"Oh, yeah. I was born here and then my parents moved to America so then I lost it, but now I'm back. Well, you neither do you." She semi-laughed.
"Yeah. I moved here for a fresh start."
"You're dating Niall, and I thought the magazine said you had ... cancer?"
"Uhm, yeah. I had leukemia and then something happened." I said with my brain a bit foggy.
"I'm so sorry." She said.
"I'm doing better." I smiled and she did too.
"That's good to hear."
"Ladies and gentlemen." The principle spoke over the microphone.
"Well, class of 2014 huh? I'll tell you kids, it's been a great year with all of you. We will miss you dearly but we give you our best wishes to move ahead with wherever life takes you. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!" Mr. Sharpe pumped his fist in the air and everyone cheered.
"Now, this year we are doing valedictorians a little different. Instead of going first, they'll go last." Oh great, now I get to go last.
NIALL
I tuned out the principle as I scanned the rows for Autumn. I had a poster and everything to surprise her.
The five of us were waiting for what, an hour before they finally called Autumn's name. Her last name begins with an 'L' anyways like what the heck.
"And now for our valedictorian." The principle side noted.
Autumn walked up to the podium with notecards. I exchanged glances with the boys. I didn't know she was valedictorian? This is extremely awkward.
"For the three years I've been here, you've guys welcomed me like family. I guess I should tell you my story shouldn't I." She cleared her throat and I kept the poster by my feet.
"When I was little, I was pulled out kindergarten and homeschooled. I had a higher intelligence (don't mean to be saying that in a rude way). But instead of bumping me up a grade, my school moved my family to New York for me to attend an Academy. I was a that school until I was fifteen. I was left with the money for here. And the friends I have, have been incredible. Including the one's that accepted a little fifteen year old," she looked at the ones that were waving their arms around in the air.
"To the ones that I literally just met an hour ago." Two girls in the front row cheered and high fived each other.
"Recently, I was diagnosed with Leukemia." The entire stadium air was sucked out.
"They said I would only make it for a few months. But shortly before that time I met someone very special in my life that has helped me through the cancer and my studies. His name would be Niall Horan. Unfortunately, he could not make it on my graduation day," I am extremely tempted to put up my sign but Harry pushed my hand on the top of it.
"But, I know he wanted to be here. Anyways, in a radiation accident during my tests in the hospital, most of the cancer was removed from my body and I cannot thank god enough times for that miracle. And," she breathed really heavy once into the microphone.
"I went to the hospital on Tuesday to have some tests done. So, as of Tuesday, I am cancer free." My ears lit up and the entire stadium roared. I held up my sign and jumped up and down. The roaring continued.
My baby is okay.
My baby is healthy.
No more meds.
No more nothing.
She's mine,
She's perfect.
"Oh my god!" She covered her mouth as she looked up at my sign and her voice became squeaky on her last word.
"Niall?" She asked as the stadium calmed down.
"I LOVE YOU!" I yelled and the area cheered again.
"OKAY OKAY! Okay." She continued sniffling.
"This is the best class ever and I'm so glad I got to spend it with all of you!" Once again, more cheers we're let out and thy handed Autumn her diploma and she jogged down the stairs and into her seat. She looked antsy. So was I. I couldn't wait to kiss her again.
AUTUMN
"Everyone, I give you the class of 2014!!" Mr. Sharpe yelled and he flipped the strand and threw our caps in the air.
Best
Feeling
Ever.
I walked through the cheering people. I had noticed Niall left his place in the stand to search for me. That needy boy.
"NIALL!" I shouted as I weaved through the people with my gown flowing behind my body.
Finally I recognized his hair among everyone.
"Niall!" I yelled and he fast walked towards me.
"Congratulations." He said and took my cheeks in his hands connecting our lips.
The spark and the feeling that I missed was finally with me again. I couldn't ask for anything better. Everywhere he touched my skin, it would burn with a fire passion. A warm sensation spread through my body. One that shall be felt not described. The moment when you have crowned your prince.
"Thank you." I gasped as we rested foreheads in front my entire 2014 class.
"I love you. My little cancer free babe."
"I love you too."
"And I'm coming with you Niall." He smiled.
"To where?"
"Wherever you go."
