Footsteps echoed as she walked forward in the dark, heels hitting the cold cement floor.
Silence was the only thing heard when she stopped moving and stood in the center of the stage. A bright light turned on behind her, making her curvy figure noticeable as she stood with one hand holding a microphone and the other resting on her hip.
Loud cheers and applauses went off as the light was once again turned off as she moved. They knew what was about to come, well most of them knew.
Even though it was a cheap bar, and they were not professionals, they were the main attraction every time they played.
The first note made all the voices lower and the small audience fixed their eyes on the stage where the lights shone brighter than before from behind, showing their figures, but never their faces.
As the night went on, the group kept playing and the small crowd they managed to gather sung along with their merry hearts.
"Don't you think they're amazing, babe?" somewhere from the mass of people a sweet voice asked to the man beside her.
"They're not bad, but I mean, they're no Freaks, you know?" the man said with a straight face.
"I think that was obvious from the moment that girl started singing" she sighed "and you're only pissed because they didn't do a cover..."
The man huffed, clearly annoyed with his girlfriend and her theories. It was obvious that he was not pissed over something as trivial as a cover song (or the lack of it) from an unknown band whose members refused to show their faces. He was simply bored and wanted to go home, that was definitely it and nothing else. Or so he tried to convince himself.
"Rebecca, let's go" he stated as he stood up and pulled her by the hand as the last song finished.
"But I want to see how they look!" she whined, walking on her tiptoes, trying to get a look of the band as they stepped out of stage.
Just as they reached the door, Rebecca caught a glimpse of the singer, causing her to screech like a school girl on a sugar rush, making the man look back at her as he covered his ear.
"What the hell, Rebecca? You almost blew my ear off!" he said annoyed as he let go of her hand so he could cradle his wounded ear.
"Oh" she blushed, looking slightly guilty "I just saw the girl, and she was so beautiful Zach! She looked like a fairy princess..." she smiled.
He looked at her, confusion clear on his facial expression, as well as curiosity and amusement.
"Looked like a what?"
"A fairy princess!" she exclaimed again, motioning her hands in circles.
"What the hell is a fairy princess and what do they look like?"
"As if it isn't obvious enough..." she scoffed "A fairy princess is a princess from the fairy kingdom," she shrugged "and you look like one by being magnificently beautiful and having amazing colored hair."
"Oh really? What was this fairy princess hair like then?" he asked, thoroughly amused by her imagination.
"Purple!" she said, turning her back to him and started moving towards the car awaiting them, skipping all the way to the back, as he stood staring at her.
