Friday night was, ever since opening, diva night at Sparkling-Red discotheque, and who better than Maddeline herself to impersonate one of the well-loved divas.

Diva night was the perfect night for all the drama-queens, the girl's-night-out groups, the over-stereotypical gay men and the occasional (every week more common) transvestites and drag queens.

Everyone was having fun, dancing, drinking, laughing and feeling the diva's they had within.
When the clock hit midnight though, the music stopped and the lights brightened.

"Ladies, gentlemen and everyone in between, this week's diva night has the pleasure to announce that as our third consecutive Friday night, and so far the one with the biggest attendance, this week's night will be dedicated to all our beloved diva's from musicals." The cheering was loud and the applause even louder as the deep and mysterious voice resonated from the speakers. "As our first performer of the night, we have the beautiful, the incredibly talented, the amazing performer (and I promise I'm not saying this because she's my boss!), miss Maddeline Moralez!"

Coming from behind the curtain, Maddeline was wearing a flow-y red dress that reached her feet and covered her black stilettos, her dark hair falling over her shoulders.

Looking out at the crowd in front of her, she couldn't help but smile at all the people that knew they could be themselves inside the discotheque, she felt proud of herself for being able to provide such a place to all of them.

The same voice that had announced her spoke again, this time accompanied by the bland, who started to play behind it, letting everyone know the show was about to start.

"And now ladies and gentlemen
"the keeper of the keys,
"the Countess of the clink,
"the Mistress of Murderes Row,
"Matron Mama Morton!"

That was Maddeline's queue to start, and she did, giving her best to bring her inner diva out, strolling from one side of the stage to the other as she kept on singing one of the thousands of songs she knew by heart.

As soon as it had started, it was over, and another performer had taken over the stage, having it in them to perform Mein Heir, and Maddeline was surprised by their ease at following both the lyrics and the dance performance.

The night progressed just like that, performer after performer, men and women alike, got on stage and sung their hearts out to all the songs they could possibly think off.

It was approaching the end of the night and Maddeline was feeling tired, but she refused to leave before the performances were all finished.

One of the last performers appeared, it was a man in a very tight and fitting dress, with a very elaborated makeup look and a beautiful wig.

The song started, Maddeline quickly identified it as Defying Gravity and an amused smile graced her features as another man in similar clothing climbed on stage and they started to have a sing-off.

A blast.

The music stopped.

Maddeline found herself hitting the floor.

Her ears were ringing.

She couldn't hear anything besides the loud chirping inside her own head.

Feet were moving, people were running.

Running where?, she wondered.
Screams.

She could faintly hear people screaming in the distance.

Something warm was running down the side of her face, but she couldn't bring herself to touch it.

What was wrong with her?

Why couldn't she lift her arm?

Why couldn't she feel her body?

Why was everything going silent?

Why was everything turning dark?
