It was the start of our final year of High School. I decided to ignore the girl I saw with you a few weeks ago. You could still be seeing her, but I haven't seen her with you. But you haven't smelt like her perfume since. However the school dance was coming round. The special one for the seniors and many of our classmates heavily anticipated this event. You asked me if there was any girl that caught my attention, but I shook my head in denial. You insisted there had to be someone, and you were right. There is someone, but he's not a she and he is you. Instead I bit my lip as I denied it. You never pressured me for answers which made my affectionate feelings towards you worse. I asked you if there was anyone you fancied, but I dreaded the answer. You shrugged your shoulders, but your eyes spoke otherwise. I know you better than anyone else, I knew that you didn't want to make it public, but instead of dropping it, I had a shred of hope you might have liked me.
