Figuring It Out

Stefan's PoV

I walk up to the cell, where Damon is. I look through the open hatch and see him laying there on the floor.

"Where's my ring?" He asks me.

"You won't be needing it anymore," I say.

He groans, "how long have I been here?" He asks.

"Three days," I reply.

"What are you doing?" Damon asks.

"During the dark ages when a vampire's actions threatened to expose or bring harm upon the entire race, they would face judgement. They sought to re-educate them rather than punish them," I inform him.

"You know what will happen if I don't feed on blood," Damon says, extremely weak.

"You'll grow weaker and weaker. And eventually you won't be able to move or speak. In a week your skin will dessicate, and you'll mumify," I tell him, "a living corpse, unable to hurt anyone. Ever."

"So what, you're just going to leave me in the basement, forever?" Damon asks.

"I've injected you with enough vervain to keep you weak. Once your circulation stops, I'll move you to the family crypt, and then in 50 years, we can re-evaluate," I say.

He lets out a strained chuckle, "I'm stronger than you think."

"You always have been. But you're not stronger than the vervain. And we both know it," I reply, "I'm sorry. It didn't have to be this way."

I then move away from the cell.

Dani's PoV

I wake up and feel fine. I get out of bed and make my way to Elena's room. She had been having trouble with Stefan recently and I have been looking after her. It had been three days since we had spoken to him.

Anyway I walk into Elena room and see her sat on her bed. I move and join her.

"So how you feeling?" I ask.

"I'm alright, just annoyed at Stefan but what's new," she replies.

I nod.

"Let's go brush our teeth and then get dressed and tackle the day ahead of us," I say.

She nods.

We then move to go use the bathroom. We walk in only to find Vicky stood there brushing her teeth. I look at her shocked. So does Elena.

"I'm sorry, I'm almost done," she tells us.

"It's okay," Elena says.

"Take you time," I say.

With that me and Elena close the door and walk of back into her room. I look at her confused and surprised.
